I was surprised to learn that I do have internet connection here in Maine. I’m still trying to disconnect for most of the weekend (I scheduled my other posts over the past few days to go up while I was here) but I’ve just decided to post a quick update on my weekly recap.
Week of 7/20-7/26:
Sunday 7/20: Rest
Monday 7/21: 6 miles with 4 x 800s (3:27, 3:25, 3:23, 3:23) (Overall pace 8:20)
Tuesday 7/22: 30 minute swim, PM- 60 minutes hot yoga
Wednesday 7/23: 3.1 miles easy (9:20 pace), body pump, cx works
Thursday 7/24: 3.69 miles (7:58 pace)
Friday 7/26: 5 miles with 6 hill repeats at the end (8:42 pace)
Saturday 7/26: 8.28 miles (8:54 pace)
Total: 26.07 miles
Mileage was just slightly more than last week, but I did run 5 days this week versus 4 last week. Some of my runs were on the short side just due to not having enough time to get more in.
While I love running in Maine, my legs are not loving these hills so much. My hips, butt, and hamstrings are not happy with me…but it will only make me a stronger runner, right? Not sure if I’ll run here on Sunday or not, but I might just go for a walk to enjoy the last day in nature!
There won’t be any time for meal prep this weekend, so if anyone has ideas for quick, easy meals I can make this week please let me know!
How were your workouts this week?
What are your favorite easy meals?

When I run too many hills it’s usually the effects of the downhill that I feel more. My town has a lot of hills and I have to specifically map out flat routes when I want them. As for quick meals for me it’s burgers thrown over a salad, or anything with spices thrown on and grilled with simple grilled or sautéed veggies. Glad you enjoyed your trip!

Good ideas for meals! I think Im just gonna buy a bunch of meats and veggies and try to be creative!
I need to plan out my runs specifically if I want to run hills around where I live. But in Maine there is a huge hill coming out of the house we are staying at so there is no avoiding it! I think I need to work on my form for running uphill too- I don’t think my glutes got the message that they need to work hard on those uphills, and everything else had to pick up the slack!

Glad you had a good trip and got some good workouts in! For a quick meal, Jambalaya is a go-to for me. Just grab some turkey sausage, shrimp, rice, and lots of spices!

I’m sure the hills are rough, but the views great! Hope you enjoy the rest of your semi-unplugged weekend! 🙂

That’s true! The views make the hills worth it for sure.

Girl I was in NH and you are right, the hills are no joke!! I hope you are having a great time! Where are you staying?

I was near Brunswick Maine (a small area called Harpswell). I am so not used to hills so those were definitely challenging for me!
