It’s that time of year again when runners all over the world get a day to celebrate what we love: Global Running Day!
What is Global Running Day? It’s exactly what it sounds like, but according to the Global Running Day Website, it is “a worldwide celebration of running that encourages everyone to get moving. It doesn’t matter how fast you run or how far you go—what’s important is that you take part, and how you do it is up to you. Run a lap around your block, take your dog for a long walk, or call your friends for a pick-up game in the park. The important thing is that you have fun being active—and you inspire others to join you.”

This year I’d like to share some ideas for how to celebrate Global Running Day!
10 Ways to Celebrate Global Running Day:
1. Invest in new running shoes: Look for some Global Running Day sales! It’s always good to have a backup pair of running shoes ready to go.
2. Run a new route: Try changing things up by running somewhere a little different!

5. Focus on injury prevention: Use your foam roller, do some stretching, or maybe take a yoga class.

7. Sign up for a race: It’s a good time to start planning out your fall race schedule!

10. Just go for a run!
Whatever you decide to do today, make sure you enjoy yourself! Running is about more than just the workouts and miles.

I celebrated by running some sprints.
I couldn’t not run on Global running Day, even though it was a rest day. I headed out without my headphones or music and just enjoyed a slow mile run.
