Happy Wednesday everyone! We made it halfway through the week. If you’re like me, you’re already looking forward to the weekend and planning your long run or weekend workout.
Or maybe you are looking to change things up this weekend. Sometimes we need a break from solo 18 milers, and one of my favorite ways to do that is by signing up for a race! You may remember that when I was training for the Raleigh Marathon, I signed up at the last minute for the Rock N Roll USA half, to break up my long run and do something different.
I was recently contacted by “Challenge Nation”, an urban adventure race, about their upcoming race in Baltimore. It will be held this Sunday, May 18th at 2:00pm.
According to their website:
Challenge Nation is a series of urban adventure races coming soon to a city near you! Each Challenge is part 5K race, part scavenger hunt, and part urban exploration–which all adds up to 100% fun as you compete against other Challengers to quickly solve the clues and beat them to the finish line!
The course is based on how you choose to complete the tasks. Most teams take about 1-1.5 hours to complete the course. Each team consists of at least 2 people, but you can have as many team members as you like! Since this involves more than just running, it might be a great way to get a friend or family member who has been hesitant to race to sign up!
Interested in participating? Challenge Nation has offered 4 free entries for me to giveaway to a reader. I am planning to give all 4 entries to one person so you can create a team of 4. However, if you would prefer to just use 2 entries you can just let me know! If the winner only wants 2 entries, I will select a second winner to use the other 2 entries.
With this race approaching quickly, I don’t know how many readers would be able to participate- so spread the word if you know anyone in the Baltimore area who may be interested!
To be entered into the giveaway, just leave a comment letting me know that you are interested and how many entries (2 or 4) you would like! Since the race is getting so close, I will give the free entries to the first person to comment saying they would like to participate.

I don’t live in Baltimore but it seems like such a cute idea to do with friends! Especially since 99.9% of my friends aren’t runners and are hard to convince to go out and do traditional races 🙂

Yes I think it would be a great way to try a race without feeling too much pressure!

I had heard about this! And I wish I could do it, but when I learned of it I already had plans. It sounds like such a good time though! Very cool giveaway!

I also already had plans when I learned about it. I really think it would be a cool way to explore the city and try out a race just for fun!

I don’t live in the Baltimore area either but sounds like a fun race. Sounds like an Expedition Everest race at Disney. Scavenger hunts are fun. Maybe that race will be coming to a city near me. Speaking about scavenger hunts. We are doing one on our blog soon. Be sure to check it out.

I’ll be sure to check it out!

I would love to run in Baltimore – but I think funds required to get there prevent me now! Such an awesome giveaway though – hopefully someday!

I think you e-mailed me about Williamsburg on June 1st. (Unfortunately I can’t do that either). I actually won’t be doing this race either because of other plans. Its a busy spring for me!
