Review of Bose SoundSport Free Wireless Headphones

Many people are surprised to hear that I never run with headphones. I used to, maybe back like 5 years ago. For a long time I could ONLY run with music. Then I stopped for several reasons, including safety (I was running alone, in the dark, in the mornings), wanting to clear my mind, and not having the right headphones for running. I have never been able to run with in-ear headphones, and was skeptical about wireless headphones.

Review of Bose SoundSport Free Wireless Headphones

I’ve been intrigued lately with all the different types of headphones that have become available. Now that I have a treadmill, I sometimes listen to music or podcasts when I run. And I rarely run in the dark anymore, so I have even worn them while running outside. (Learn more about why you should consider not running with headphones)

Bose SoundSport Free Wireless Headphones

Last month I had the opportunity to review Bose SoundSport Free Headphones. I had no idea if I would like them, since they are in-ear headphones and those types of headphones have never worked for me in the past. Not only are they wireless, they are also sweat proof and weather resistant.

Headphones Set Up

The headphones were very easy to set up. I had to download and app, but from there the steps to connect my smart phone to the headphones were very self-explanatory. I hate reading directions so I was glad that it was pretty intuitive. When I first took them out of the package I expected that I would need to change out the size of the ear buds to a smaller size, but the ones it came with actually fit perfectly! You place them in your ear, and turn them slightly, and they fit like a glove. From the moment I put them in I was shocked with how well they fit.

They come in a charging case, which also works for storage. There is a USB cord that plugs the case into a charger. So you can leave them charging when you’re not using them.

Comfort and Quality of these Wireless Headphones

I wore them on many walks and a few runs. (This happened to be a time when I wasn’t running a whole lot). Even while running, they didn’t move at all and I pretty much forgot they were there. The sound quality was great too.

The only downside is that I think they look a little big in your ear while wearing them. They stick out more than expected. When my husband saw me wearing them he even commented on how big they looked. However, I think I would prefer comfort and quality over how they look.

I received these headphones for a 30 day trial in exchange for my honest opinion. And now I can say that I have an option for running with headphones again! At this point I probably wouldn’t buy them for myself, but if I were in the market for quality headphones these would definitely be a great option.
