Another week down, which means I’m that much closer to marathon training. My workouts this week were focused on getting some faster miles in earlier in the week to prepare for the Charles St 12 miler, and then a few easy runs so that my legs would be rested for the race.
Here is my weekly recap:
Week of 8/3-8/9
Sunday 8/3: Rest!! Focused on recovery including a wonderful Epsom salt bath.
Monday 8/4: 6.5 miles with 5 at tempo pace (average pace 8:06), hip/glute work
Tuesday 8/5: 5 miles easy (9:27 pace), Runners Core DVD, PM- 60 minutes hot yoga
Wednesday 8/6: 3.5 miles easy (9:37 pace), Body Pump, CX Works
Thursday 8/7: 3.45 miles with 6 x 20 second strides at the end (8:57 pace), hips/glutes/abs
Friday 8/8: Rest
Saturday: 8/9: Charles St. 12 miler: 1:33: 41 (7:48 pace)
Total: 30.45
My plan is to have my recap of the Charles St 12 up tomorrow, so look out for that!
This week I will be away and my plan is to enjoy the last week of not “training” and run/workout in whatever way I feel like! I’m looking forward to some beach runs/walks, and maybe some yoga on the beach too!
How were your workouts this week?
What is your favorite workout to do on vacation? (Or do you take a break?)

You crushed that race – I was so happy to see the results on Instagram! Congratulations on a great week of “training-but-not-really-training” and a great race!

I just got back from a cruise. I basically had to run on the treadmill, which was a little tricky on one particular day of rough seas! I could’ve run on the deck, but somehow 14 laps = 1 mile just wasn’t going to work for me! 🙂 I am catching up on all your posts this week!

I hope you had a great trip!
