Catching Up After the Week

I’m finally putting this together on Sunday night, and to be honest the last thing I want to do is look at my computer screen. So this will be a quick one. Basically, I have spent the past week up to my eyeballs in website development. I am finally working on updating my site, but I am also working on similar project for work, so it feels like it is nonstop. I got a lot done this weekend but I feel like I haven’t rested at all. I am really excited to launch my new site but I want it to be as close to perfect as possible before I do so. Once it’s up and running I hope to focus on the content and catching up on everyone else’s blog. So please forgive me if I am not commenting as much lately! I will definitely be reading posts and trying to comment as much as my tired hands will allow.

A quick recap of the week in workouts:

Monday: 3 miles easy plus core/hips

monday

Tuesday: Strength training and trying out the new bike!

biking

Wednesday: 3 miles and PT exercises

Thursday: AM: 20 minutes biking  PM: Physical Therapy appointment

spinning

Friday: Pilates workout (I got a magic circle so used that for the first time) and arm workout

Saturday: 50 minute spin class on YouTube and physical therapy exercises

Sunday: 7 mile run and core/hips

It was really windy on Saturday and I just wasn’t in the mood to go out for a run. So I found a workout on YouTube and hopped on the spin bike instead. I got in a great workout and was happy to run on Sunday when the weather was perfect!

sunday

Please follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and/or Bloglovin for updates about the new site. This one will be around for a while so I’m sure you will be able to find me even if you miss the announcement. (I’m not trying to be all secretive, I’m just really not sure about the timeline for all this). Thanks for putting up with my absence lately!

How were your workouts last week?

Thanks to Holly and Tricia for hosting the Weekly Wrap!

i totally understand how draining this process is, especially when you are doing something similar at work! my life gets that way often with the work I do, the blog and then the event planning topics I write while planning my own event! it’s a lot to handle. I am excited to see the new site!

I know how exhausting it can be to work on a new site, especially when it’s on top of all of your normal responsibilities. Looking forward to checking it out once it’s ready!!!

Working on a new site is exhausting! I am excited to see how it looks! Your workouts are so well rounded this week – the at-home bike sounds like it’s working out well!

I didn’t want to run Saturday either due to the wind! But I ended up going out and it wasn’t too bad. Do you work on websites for your job? I don’t know how to do any of that stuff!

I don’t usually do website stuff for my job but we are trying to market the project we are doing so I made a really basic one. It was alot easier than creating a blog!

A lot of times I write posts during down time at work because I don’t want to be on my computer at home. I think web development can be fun, but I don’t do it at work so it would be something different to do. Can’t wait to see what you’ve decided to do.

I find it kind of of fun too but it can be so time consuming, and after awhile it just gets to me!

That’s so convenient having the bike that you can hop on it for a workout! I don’t blame you – looking at websites all weekend would have me wanting to be as far from them as possible.

Can’t wait to see the new site! I totally get how draining that stuff can be though and to go through it at work too – ugh.

I would love to see your home gym. I bet now that you have that spin bike it is pretty cool. You always seem to be doing different workouts in there, between the TRX and now you have that Pilates circle. Must not ever get bored.

Maybe I will share a “tour” of my home gym one day! Its really just a corner or my basement, but its working on well!

I love having a bike at home for easy spin classes! Especially as the weather gets colder. Hope all the website design goes smoothly!

I think it’s great you can work on your new site. I am not very computer savvy when it come to that kind of thing.
So are your keeping the same name you think or looking for something new?

    • Lisa @ Running Out Of Wine says

      October 26, 2016 at 4:51 am

I am planning to change my name! Which I think makes this easier and a more difficult at the same time. Right now I am able to keep everything functioning separately, but merging it all may be a challenge!

After staring at a computer all day at work, I admit it is sometimes not the most appealing thing to me once I get home. So, I usually impose one or two computer free evenings every week. How exciting to be developing a new site! I can’t wait until your unveiling. It looks like you had a great week of workouts too! Thanks for linking, Lisa!

Yesterday’s’ long run was 16 miles with 6 x 1 Yesterday’s’ long run was 16 miles with 6 x 1 mile MP/1 mile easy. I took a few hours of PTO in the morning to do this on the trail because I knew wouldn’t be able to do it this weekend. This was my first time on the trail since my marathon last November. It was nice to be back there and the perfect place to do this kind of long run. It was the kind of run where you start thinking “ok cool I just did a tough MP workout” but then you remember you actually need to run 26 miles in a row at that pace. Luckily there’s still 9 more weeks of training…although that doesn’t really sound like that much!
41 miles for the week and got in 2 strength sessions. Taking it easy this weekend other than chasing the kids around for all their activities! #run #marathontraining #longrun
It’s kind of freeing to not care about pace. It It’s kind of freeing to not care about pace. It is a little frustrating to have to plan more time for an easy run. But it’s definitely worth it to recover quicker and feel better on workout days! #run #marathongtraining #easyrun
You know marathon training is starting to get real You know marathon training is starting to get real when you start losing track of what training week it is. I had to check my calendar but this was week 6, so 10 weeks to go!

I ran the Charles Street 12 last weekend so this week was all about easy miles and recovering from the race. That went well until I went and ran all the hills yesterday followed by walking around a maze and fun park for 5 hours. I got in some strength and mobility this morning and now I’m back to focusing on recovery!

If you’re training for a race how many weeks do you have left?

#run #runner #marathontraining #richmondmarathon
15 miles, over 1,100 feet of elevation gain, and 9 15 miles, over 1,100 feet of elevation gain, and 91% humidity 🫠 Pretty sure that was harder than my race last weekend, but got it done. Now off to my second workout of the day- taking the kids to an outdoor fun park. RIP to my legs.
What are you up to this weekend?
