Cape Cod Wedding Weekend

I’m back from an amazing weekend in Cape Cod celebrating the wedding of two amazing people, Alli and JT! This post will be pretty much recap of the weekend in photos, and tomorrow I will be back with my regular running talk!

Before our flight out of BWI I treated myself to a wine flight at Vino Volo, because I just really wanted a GOOD glass of wine and once I was there I figured why choose one when you can taste three?

wine

The morning of the wedding Rob and I explored Hyannis on our run, and stopped for some pics near the beach.

friday

Later in the day we went to Cape Cod Beer and did a tasting. It was cloudy all morning but as we were sitting there the sun came out!

Ok, and now for the wedding pics…they are pretty self-explanatory but the venue was beautiful, and they did end up with absolutely perfect weather. Everything from the music to the food to the people was just amazing.

After a fun but late (for me) night I managed to get a quick run in the next morning before we started our journey home. My Garmin was dead, which was probably for the best anyway.

Now that Alli and JT are married, they are getting ready to move to Minneapolis in a  few weeks! (They met in Boston and have lived there for the past few years.) It was a perfect weekend and we are so glad that we got to celebrate with them!

On Sunday afternoon we headed over to my parents’ to celebrate Father’s Day, my sister’s birthday, and my dad’s birthday, which are all this week.

I got my sister a new yoga mat for her birthday so we had some fun playing with it in the backyard.

And now it’s time to start gearing up for the next wedding this coming Saturday! June is quite a busy month!

Have you ever been to Cape Cod?

What was the nicest wedding location you have been to?

Has June been a busy month for you?

Good answer- as it should be! Wine flights are such a great option.

Cape Cod looks so beautiful! I’ve only ever been to Plymouth, MA on the Cape to see the pilgrim stuff. I really want to go to Martha’s Vineyard!
My first non-family wedding is in a few weeks in Solomons, MD. I haven’t seen the venue yet but it sounds beautiful! I’m excited for my friends to all start getting married so I can keep going to the weddings!

I remember when I first started going to my friends’ weddings it was SO exciting. Now its still fun of course, but I definitely appreciate when they are spread out a bit:)

I’ve been to Cape Cod every summer since growing up since my family has a vacation house in Nantucket, we always take the ferry from Hyannis! I love the Cape I feel like it has such a small town, beachy feel to it. Definitely a great place to get married! Best wedding venue would have to be Georgetown chapel. Absolutely stunning and held lots of sentimental value to the couple since they met there in college. Hope you have a fabulous Monday!

The cape is so awesome, I wish it was easier to get there from Baltimore. And the weather there in the summer is perfect!

I love wine flights. Sometimes I know what I want, sometimes a flight is perfect for me to try new wines. June always seems to be a busy wedding month, and the wedding I went to last year was in a gorgeous location: the Oregon coast.

      June 22, 2015 at 3:25 pm

Oooh I would love to go to a wedding on the west coast! And yes, wine flights are such a great option when you want to try something new but don’t want to commit to a full glass!

Looks like you had such a fun weekend! I’ve never been to Cape Cod but your pictures make me want to go there.
Wine flights are definitely better than a single glass of wine. I honestly loved the location of my wedding: ceremony in a huge chapel with lots of stained glass, reception in a local history museum.

You looked gorgeous and the pics are great, sounds like a great weekend. I live in MA, only about 1.5 hours from the Cape but we don’t go there often, I actually haven’t been to the Cape in about 7 or so years. It’s funny, but its never even a thought to go there, when thousands flock to it every weekend in the summer for fun!

    • [email protected] says

      June 22, 2015 at 3:30 pm

That is funny, and I would say that if I lived closer I would probably go there all the time, but who knows if I actually would!

I’ve only ever been to Boston, but I pretty much fell in love with MA then, so someday I will be seeing more, likely including Cape Cod. Looks like you had a fantastic time! I can relate to June being busy, I’m trying to balance life and training right now….life is winning:)

      June 22, 2015 at 3:31 pm

Hopefully you will get to see the cape sometime, it’s really beautiful! I think this time of year is busy for a lot of people- I’m hoping the summer slows down a bit so I can relax and catch up on some things at home!

We were just talking about how we miss going to weddings. As we get older, we have less weddings each year. For a few years though we’d go to 4-5 a summer! Now it’s babies and showers 🙂

It’s always worth it to get out there on a cold It’s always worth it to get out there on a cold Sunday morning when you get to see the sunrise. (Even if you were woken up 5 times the night before, but let’s not talk about that) 8 miles for my longest postpartum run! Are you getting out for a run this morning?

Not sure if it was the colder weather, the shoes, Not sure if it was the colder weather, the shoes, or the extra carbs but I ran 4 miles at a much faster than usual pace. Which was good because I got out 2 hours later than planned and needed to cut my run short to get back to the chaos of my house. At least I got to run in the daylight! (But I forgot my sunglasses because when I was originally dressed to go I had my headlamp and reflective vest on). Now, it’s time for more coffee!

Right now lifting is more important than ever for me to help build back postpartum and to support my lifestyle of constantly nursing and carrying around a baby and all the stuff that kids require every day.
