I’m back from an amazing weekend in Cape Cod celebrating the wedding of two amazing people, Alli and JT! This post will be pretty much recap of the weekend in photos, and tomorrow I will be back with my regular running talk!
Before our flight out of BWI I treated myself to a wine flight at Vino Volo, because I just really wanted a GOOD glass of wine and once I was there I figured why choose one when you can taste three?
The morning of the wedding Rob and I explored Hyannis on our run, and stopped for some pics near the beach.
Later in the day we went to Cape Cod Beer and did a tasting. It was cloudy all morning but as we were sitting there the sun came out!
Ok, and now for the wedding pics…they are pretty self-explanatory but the venue was beautiful, and they did end up with absolutely perfect weather. Everything from the music to the food to the people was just amazing.
After a fun but late (for me) night I managed to get a quick run in the next morning before we started our journey home. My Garmin was dead, which was probably for the best anyway.
Now that Alli and JT are married, they are getting ready to move to Minneapolis in a few weeks! (They met in Boston and have lived there for the past few years.) It was a perfect weekend and we are so glad that we got to celebrate with them!
On Sunday afternoon we headed over to my parents’ to celebrate Father’s Day, my sister’s birthday, and my dad’s birthday, which are all this week.
I got my sister a new yoga mat for her birthday so we had some fun playing with it in the backyard.
And now it’s time to start gearing up for the next wedding this coming Saturday! June is quite a busy month!
- Have you ever been to Cape Cod?
- What was the nicest wedding location you have been to?
- Has June been a busy month for you?
Your hair looks so pretty!
Thank you!
Awww the bride looks so happy in all of the pics!
Love you dress – it’s the perfect summer wedding dress!
I am always so impressed by your dedication to running on weekends away/vacation!
Thanks! And I always feel better when I get to do some running while I’m away:)
Nicest wedding location? MY OWN ;D And I’m with you–wine flights > single glass
Good answer- as it should be! Wine flights are such a great option.
Headstands! Yay! Congrats to your friends – you all look awesome and what a fun weekend 🙂
My headstands definitely need some work but it was fun to try:)
Cape Cod looks so beautiful! I’ve only ever been to Plymouth, MA on the Cape to see the pilgrim stuff. I really want to go to Martha’s Vineyard!
My first non-family wedding is in a few weeks in Solomons, MD. I haven’t seen the venue yet but it sounds beautiful! I’m excited for my friends to all start getting married so I can keep going to the weddings!
I remember when I first started going to my friends’ weddings it was SO exciting. Now its still fun of course, but I definitely appreciate when they are spread out a bit:)
I’ve been to Cape Cod every summer since growing up since my family has a vacation house in Nantucket, we always take the ferry from Hyannis! I love the Cape I feel like it has such a small town, beachy feel to it. Definitely a great place to get married! Best wedding venue would have to be Georgetown chapel. Absolutely stunning and held lots of sentimental value to the couple since they met there in college. Hope you have a fabulous Monday!
The cape is so awesome, I wish it was easier to get there from Baltimore. And the weather there in the summer is perfect!
I love wine flights. Sometimes I know what I want, sometimes a flight is perfect for me to try new wines. June always seems to be a busy wedding month, and the wedding I went to last year was in a gorgeous location: the Oregon coast.
Oooh I would love to go to a wedding on the west coast! And yes, wine flights are such a great option when you want to try something new but don’t want to commit to a full glass!
Oh wow – your pictures are all so amazing! Looks like a great week – such a beautiful bride!! I used to live in Boston so have been to the Cape a few times there!
Thanks! Yes, it seems pretty easy to get to the Cape from Boston…I think I would go much more if it was easier to get there!
Looks like you had such a fun weekend! I’ve never been to Cape Cod but your pictures make me want to go there.
Wine flights are definitely better than a single glass of wine. I honestly loved the location of my wedding: ceremony in a huge chapel with lots of stained glass, reception in a local history museum.
The cape is really nice and such a great vacation spot!
Your wedding reception sounds beautiful!
Wonderful pics! Looks like it was a fun time. I have never visited Cape Cod. You are really busy. Another wedding this wkend.
Thanks! It was alot of fun. After this upcoming weekend then I think things will slow down a bit:)
Congrats to the happy couple! What a fun weekend and I love your hair style. 🙂
Thanks so much!
Awe, I’m glad you had such a good time! Those pictures are really beautiful. Love your dress, your hair, you look amazing. Cape Cod looks magical.
Thank you! It really was perfect; I was so happy for the bride and groom!
It looks like you had an amazing weekend!! I have always wanted to go to Cape Cod and your pictures make me want to go even more!! Thanks for sharing 🙂
You should definitely try to visit in the summer if you ever have the chance!
What a beautiful wedding. I love the brides dress. It’s simple yet classy. Looks like an fun-filled weekend! Nothing starts a trip off better than a nice adult beverage 🙂
Thanks! Her dress was really beautiful. And I always love a drink before leaving for a flight:)
Beautiful! So far I’ve been to a lot of east-coast weddings, but I think Chapel Hill, NC was my favorite place to visit – Boston being a close second though!
Those sound like some great places for weddings!
You looked gorgeous and the pics are great, sounds like a great weekend. I live in MA, only about 1.5 hours from the Cape but we don’t go there often, I actually haven’t been to the Cape in about 7 or so years. It’s funny, but its never even a thought to go there, when thousands flock to it every weekend in the summer for fun!
That is funny, and I would say that if I lived closer I would probably go there all the time, but who knows if I actually would!
I’ve only ever been to Boston, but I pretty much fell in love with MA then, so someday I will be seeing more, likely including Cape Cod. Looks like you had a fantastic time! I can relate to June being busy, I’m trying to balance life and training right now….life is winning:)
Hopefully you will get to see the cape sometime, it’s really beautiful! I think this time of year is busy for a lot of people- I’m hoping the summer slows down a bit so I can relax and catch up on some things at home!
I have never been to Cape Cod looks beautiful! and I am with you- 3 glasses of wine are always better than 1! Looks like you had a great time! We had a fun weekend in Captiva and the weather was hot and gorgeous! have a great week!
Gotta love those wine flight options, especially when you can’t decide what to try!
Glad that you had a good weekend too!
I’ve never been to Cape Cod, but it looks like such a beautiful place for a wedding and for running!! And I feel like your dress was the perfect fit for that location! Love the blue and white 🙂
Thanks! When I saw the dress in the store I felt like I had to get it! (Plus it was really comfortable, so of course that’s important too:))
Looks like a beautiful wedding and an even more beautiful place to spend the weekend!
It was amazing! I wish I was back there right now:)
What are you drinking at your wedding? Sippy cup and straw to protect white dress? If so – great idea!
Yes it’s wine in a coffee cup with a lid so I didn’t spill it!
What a beautiful wedding! I have been to Cape Cod and I’ll bet that location is pretty perfect! All the best to the newlyweds!
Thanks Marcia! It really was perfect!
Looks like a great weekend! I’ve never been to Cape Cod, but I’ve heard that it’s beautiful.
It’s so nice- I wish it was easier to get to so I could go more often!
We were just talking about how we miss going to weddings. As we get older, we have less weddings each year. For a few years though we’d go to 4-5 a summer! Now it’s babies and showers 🙂
We are going to less and less as well.I went to 7 in 2013! That was exhausting but alot of fun:)
Stunning!! I love Cape Cod. We have taken summer vacations in Nantucket and that is my dream place. I loved spending a little bit of time in Cape Cod on the way to Nantucket. Such a beautiful wedding and they looked so happy 🙂
So awesome you got to run while you were there – that is exactly what I would have done!
I really loved our wedding location 🙂
So fun that you have another wedding coming up!
Im sure Nantucket is beautiful too! I would love to visit there someday!
I have never been to Cape Cod but it looks like a beautiful venue! We don’t get invited to a lot of weddings. My cousin got married in the Harrisburg Capitol Rotundra and that was very pretty.
That sounds like a nice location!
