On October 2nd I ran the Potomac River Run Marathon, which was my 7th marathon and my first in 6 years. It was also my first live race in 2 years. In this recap I’m sharing all the details of my race, including why it was a particularly challenging one for me.

I'm writing this a few days before my marathon. During this last week of the taper I've had a lot of thoughts about my marathon training cycle. I wanted to take some time to write down all my thoughts before my race even happens. Because no matter what happens this weekend, I want to appreciate what went well and learn from the things I could have done better. I know I won't be able to have a race recap up the week after the race, so I'm planning to post this first and then a recap will come next week.

And next week will be even less, until the weekend that is! It was another week of ups and down. I feel like evert week I am questioning if this race will happen. I won't know for sure until I'm there doing it. Let's take a look at this week's workouts, which was a week of ups and downs.
