June Happenings

The past few weeks have been a blur. I knew going into June that it would be a hectic month, so I am somewhat glad to have made it to the other side. While most of what was going on was good stuff, it will also be really nice to relax a bit more in the upcoming weeks.

June Happenings

So what exactly has been going on this month? Let’s see…our deck started to get built! This actually isn’t stressful at this point because we don’t have to be there or do anything…leading up to it was more stressful because of deciding what we wanted and how much we were willing to spend.

The middle of the month was when things started to get busy. On Wednesday the 15th I drove to the Eastern Shore of MD for a work meeting. However, before that I had to get myself organized for the next few weeks of being out of my office for work. I stayed overnight Wednesday and then on Thursday I drove up to New York to start the wedding weekend for my friend Karen!

But first, I got to meet up with Meredith! On my way out to the hotel where I was staying we met for lunch. It was so great to finally meet in person after years of talking through our blogs!

lunch with meredithOf course she recommended a great place to eat so we got to enjoy custom made salads with a  New York bagel on the side. After chatting for a while, Meredith had to get back to work and I went to get my nails done.

After that the wedding weekend began! We had the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner on Thursday night. Rob worked on Thursday and took the train up late that night. He got in around midnight, but I had just gotten back to the hotel around 11 anyway. Between all the driving and staying up late I was exhausted!

Friday was the wedding day! We were at Karen’s for hair and makeup by 9, but first I hopped on the elliptical for a quick workout.

getting ready

We had a great time getting ready together and at 2:30 it was time for the ceremony! Karen and Danny got married in the church where we all went when we were growing up. We took the limo out to where the reception was being held, and luckily got to sip on some champagne during the ride because we got stuck in rush hour traffic!

The rest of the evening involved pictures, more drinks, dinner, and lots of dancing. It was the perfect day! I was definitely exhausted by the time I went to sleep that night though.

karens wedding

We drove back to Maryland on Saturday, and spent the day unpacking, doing laundry, and cleaning. Sunday involved groceries, meal prep, and going to my parents’ house to celebrate Father’s Day and my sister’s birthday.

At this point we were preparing for Rob’s family to visit the following weekend. His parents were coming on Wednesday and his sister, her husband, and our niece were supposed to come on Thursday. Meanwhile, I had 4 days of conferences that involved a total of 8 presentations, so my mind was all over the place.

On Thursday we got the disappointing news that our nice was sick and they wouldn’t be able to make the trip. However, it turned out that after hours and hours of flight delays their flight was cancelled, so it was better off that they weren’t sitting in the airport all day! We were sad to miss them but are hoping to reschedule soon.

union craft

Rob’s parents still came on Wednesday and we had fun with them. We both took off on Friday and went to Fort McHenry and World of Beer for lunch. On Saturday we went to Union Craft Brewery for a Tour and hung out for a bit enjoying some beers.

Now, it’s looking like things will maybe quiet down a bit and get back to normal. I felt like the past few weeks flew by and now I would like summer to slow down a bit!

Can’t wait for the day all three of us can meet up! I agree June jas flown, although I haven’t gone anywhere the end of school makes the month seem really chaotic. Love those wedding pictures you look great!

It is always fun to meet fellow bloggers after connecting with them on each other’s blogs for awhile. Wedding wkends are a blast, but very tiring! I like breweries, but prefer wineries.

I prefer wineries too, but the brewery was a fun way to spend the afternoon!

I do like brewery tours/tastings, but I haven’t done that many–I think maybe two or three. I also like going to wineries, but again, I’ve only been to a few. I have been back home for a few weddings, and it’s always nice getting to see all of my old high school friends. I haven’t ever met a blog friend in real life, but it does seem like it’d be a neat experience!

I have met a few blog friends in real life, and in every single case it has been so easy to talk with them. It’s almost like we’ve known each other for years or something 😉

I love the matching bridesmaids dressing gowns, and you look GORGEOUS in your dress!

Your bridesmaid dress is gorgeous on you! That’s disappointing your family couldn’t come visit. I’ve met a few blogger friends but most people live so far away. I need to make it out to the East Coast sometime!

Yes you do!! And I would love to make it out to the west coast some day:)

I’ve gone on brewery tours with friends, but I don’t drink the beer. I’m much more into tours at wineries, and then I will taste what they make. And possibly buy a bottle if I really like it.

Your bridesmaid dress was absolutely perfect for you, too! You look stunning!

You know that I love my blogger meet ups! And i agree with everyone else–you look stunning in that dress! The summer is so crazy. And then it is holiday season, and then a dull point in winter, and then it starts again. That is why I try to be unpopular.

      June 30, 2016 at 7:41 pm

I hate that dull point in winter, but in a way its kind of relaxing!

You were super busy! Besides my 6 day vacation, you June was the opposite of mine! 🙂 We do have a very fun couple days coming up. I think we have multiple plans each day from now until the 4th! 🙂

That is exciting you are getting a deck! 🙂

I have met Ali and Kristina, Heather @ Girl Goes Running and Meranda & Lacey at Fairytales and Fitness. Dang, I get around don’t I!?

Well I met Heather at Boston and Ali and Kristina at a race in FL… and then Meranda and Lacey live near me. 🙂 Oh I forgot to tell you that you look so pretty in the wedding pic!

I actually love that bridesmaid dress! It’s really stylish, and you could definitely cut it short and wear it again.

Yes, June has been hectic! I’m just trying to keep my head above water at this point…

It’s tough to enjoy all the fun stuff as much when it starts to become overwhelming! Im doing my best to try to slow down and just appreciate this time of the year.

That would be great! It may be tricky because I am going to Hawaii for 2 weeks in September, so I will need to plan my training around that.

Your month was busy but it seems like it was very fun as well! You look so beautiful in that dress!! I went to a beer tasting this month, but need to start going to more breweries in the area!

    • [email protected] says

You should definitely check out Union Craft! Waverly is also right there too, but I haven’t been there. And if you do go there, you should then go eat at Birroteca- best pizza in Baltimore in my opinion. They are all right off the Woodbury light rail stop so I think we would just take that next time we went! May be easier for you coming from so far north as well.

19 miles! 7 on the treadmill, 12 outside, 1,272 to 19 miles! 7 on the treadmill, 12 outside, 1,272 total feet of elevation gain. Amazing weather. Listened to Life of a Showgirl on the treadmill and had some podcasts saved for my outside run but couldn’t get my headphones to connect. This was challenging by the end and I kept thinking how hard it would be if I needed to run another 7 miles today (and all miles at a faster pace) but this is why we train. Feeling like I’m in a good place with 6 weeks to go! How was your run today? #run #marathontraining #longrun
