Runner’s Gift Guide for 2025

Believe it or not, it’s already time to start thinking about the holidays. I’ve been saving ideas for this year’s runner’s gift guide for a few months now. Whether you are organized and planning ahead, or saving your shopping for the last minute, this list will be here to help you out! There can be great sales this time of year, even if you just “need” some new running gear for yourself!

Whether you are organized and planning ahead, or saving your shopping for the last minute, this list will be here to help you out! Also, be sure to check this out even if you just "need" some new running gear for yourself!

Runner’s Gift Guide for 2025

Running Shoes

Brooks Hyperion Max 3

If you are looking for a reliable, faster shoe, with a high stack plenty of cushioning, these are for you. With a pronounced rocker and updated plates, they feel faster than the Hyperion Max 2s. However, they do have a semi-gusseted tongue which seems to have caused me some problems with the lacing. As far as I’ve heard this hasn’t been any issue for anyone else (and I’ve had this problem with many other shoes too, so it’s not unique to these).

Brooks Ghost 17

I always have a pair of Ghosts in my rotation. This model feels pretty standard and there is some cushioning, though noticeably less than some other max cushioned shoes that are out now. I feel like you always know what you’re going to get with the Ghosts.

Lululemon Split Shift

If you have been following me for awhile you may be surprised to see a shoe on here that is not Brooks. I recently had the opportunity to review these shoes for Run to the Finish and I was really impressed with them! They have become a regular part of my shoe rotation and I wear them for easy runs and tempo runs. The longest I have done in them is 8 miles, but I am confident they could handle more.

Brooks Glycerin Max

Some days I just really want a lot of soft cushioning, and this is what I reach for. I have made these shoes last for a long time because I only wear them a few times a month. I wouldn’t recommend wearing them for every run because of how cushioned they are, but I do think they are a nice addition to a shoe rotation, especially on easy runs or recovery runs.

Adrenaline GTS

These provide some stability and are good for runners who either need that on all runs, or who want to add it to the mix for certain runs. They feel a little less flexible than some of my other shoes but are a good option when I feel like I need some additional support. Starting on 11/20 these will be on sale for $109.95 USD (21% off)!

Running Apparel

I had the opportunity to review some Oiselle Reflective Gear for Run to the Finish, so check that out here!

Oiselle Reflective Vim Jacket

The Reflective Vim Jacket is lightweight and can be used in a range of weather conditions. There are a few reflective strips on the jacket: one across the front on one side and another down the back.

Oiselle Glow Tights

These full length tights fit comfortably with a compressive fit that keeps them from sliding down. They have side pockets as well as a large back pocket with a zipper. I was able to run with my phone in the back pocket and it didn’t bounce or cause the tights to slide down at all. The sides of the tights offer reflective prints with the Oiselle logo inside of 2 reflective strips.

Brooks Luxe Long Sleeve

This has been my go-to running shirt this fall, and I am sure I will continue wearing it into the winter as a base layer. It’s soft, thin, and comfortable, with thumb holes.

Brooks Ghost Lite Socks

All runners need high quality running socks, and these are a great value. They offer lightweight cushioning and are thin with a bit of arch support.

Brooks Luxe Pocket Bra

Since the 3 pocket bra was discontinued I’ve been trying the Luxe pocket bra instead. While it’s not the same, it’s a good alternative. Read my full review here!

Zash 1/2 Zip

This Zash 1/2 Zip pullover is perfect for days that are slightly chilly, but you can use it as a base layer for colder days.

Spark Tight

These tights fit comfortably and don’t slide down. They offer a bit of warmth, but aren’t meant for the extreme cold. They have side pockets as well as a back pocket.

Canopy Jacket

This jacket is great for windy or rainy days. It’s light so not for super cold days, but I have put some layers underneath for some extra warmth.

Recovery Tools

Pso-Rite

The pso-rite is built with 2 peaks to work like a massage therapist’s hand or elbows. This versatile tool can help you release just about any area of your body on your own. Read my full review here.

Pso-Back

This tool is meant to help release different areas of the back but can be used on other body parts as well.

Chirp Wireless Muscle Stimulator

This Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) can be used to enhance muscle recovery, improve strength, and alleviate pain after workouts or an injury. It’s wireless, making it easy to use throughout the day.

Lumaflex Red Light Therapy

Red light therapy has become a popular method of helping to heal injuries and reduce pain. This device comes with 2 different size straps so it can be worn on different areas of the body.

Toe Spacers

Toe spacers are great for runners because they can help to realign your toes after so many miles of running in shoes. Getting your toes into better positions can even help other areas up the chain.

Slant Board

There are 3 slant board in this pack. They are different sizes and you could stack them to make them higher. I use two for squats and keep the 3rd under my desk for stretching my calves.

Lagoon Pillow

Sleep is our most important recovery tool! And in order to get a good night’s sleep, you need the right pillow. Lagoon has a quiz to help you find the perfect pillow for your needs. Save 15% with code MILEBYMILE

Fueling and Hydration

Nathan Pinnacle Pro Hydration Vest

This vest features a compression fit with a new quick-fit size system and easily adjustable sternum slider cords with tons of storage options: It has 12 pockets and a 1.6L insulated bladder. I use this for all my long runs and I barely notice I am wearing it!

Carbs Fuel

I’ve been using Carbs Fuel as part of my fueling plan which has 50 g of carbs. This makes it easier to hit my fueling goals when I don’t need to take gels as often! They have a pretty plain taste but it does feel like alot of gel (its kind of a big packet) but also the price is decent for such a high carb gel.

Nathan Pinnacle Soft Flask Handheld Water Bottle

This flask holds 18oz and as a pocket to store gels, keys, etc. I like that it’s soft so as you have less fluid in the bottle it gets smaller to hold. You could even stash it in your pocket after you’re done drinking it.

Skratch Labs Hydration Mix

I use Skratch on my long runs as a way to get in some additional carbs and electrolytes. It doesn’t have a strong taste and sits well in my stomach. If you are looking for some long run hydration this is worth a try.

SaltStick FastChews

These contain sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium (the main electrolytes lost through sweat). The are chewable and taste great! They are an easy way to get in some extra electrolytes while running.

Running Accessories

Garmin Forerunner 265S

I started running with the Garmin Forerunner 265 last December. It does everything I need and has good GPS tracking (which was my complaint about my last GPS watch). I also like that it is small and subtle enough to be worn with regular clothes. 33% off right now

COROS Pace 4

I’ve been wearing this watch for about a month to review for Run to the Finish. I’ve been really impressed! It has all the features of my Garmin 265s and more.

Coros Arm Band Heart Rate Monitor

I love running data, but I have always struggled with wearing a heart rate monitor on my runs. I would wear my chest strap for a few runs and then end up with chafing and stop wearing it. Once I got the Coros Armband Heart Rate Monitor I started wearing it all the time. It actually does a great job at measuring your heart rate and its super comfortable and easy to clean.

Garmin Smart Scale

My husband got this earlier in the year so I set up an account to use it too. I don’t usually weigh myself, but thought it would be a good way to keep track of things during marathon training. It automatically recognizes the user when you step on the scale and saves your data to your Garmin Connect account.

Mindset

Run Your Life Journal

If you have wanted to start journaling regularly but don’t know where to begin, this is a great tool to guide you. Each day you can write down things you are grateful for, daily intentions, daily affirmations, etc. You can also track monthly and weekly goals.

Let Your Mind Run

Deena Kastor shares her story of using positive psychology and shaping her mind to be more resilient which led her to being an even more successful runner.

How Bad Do You Want It?

This book has many stories of how the mental aspect of running helps athletes to reach their full potential, beyond what they thought was possible.

Running Books

My full list of running books is here, but there are a few more than I read recently that I wanted to share:

Choosing to Run– Des Linden
The Longest Race– Kara Goucher
Good for a Girl– Lauren Fleshman
Don’t Call it a Comeback– Kiera D’Amato

This is a very comprehensive list, Lisa! I have the Garmin 265S as well, I absolutely love it.
How do you like the Garmin Scale? I weigh myself every day and have been wondering whether that is worth the money.

If you want alot of detailed data it is very easy to use! Although I honestly have no idea how accurate it is in terms of measuring body fat, muscle, etc. But it’s nice that all you need to do it step on and it saves all your stats to the Garmin app so you can see any trends in the data.

I do still love my Brooks Glycerins! The canopy jacket is the one I reach for most all year around

So many great ideas! Perfect for any runner but I might just find a few things for myself. 🙂

Wow. What a great list. Many things I’ve never even heard of.
I’m pretty low maintenance and have more than I need.

    Besides shoes.

How do you like the Luxe line? I really loved the Distance tanks and long sleeves, and wasn’t sure what the difference was between the two!

    Great gift ideas!

I LOVE all the luxe gear! The only thing I’m not 100% sold on is the bra, but thats because of the fit, not the material. I have been living in the Luxe long sleeve, short sleeves, and tanks all year.
