1. Test Your Running Luck by Entering a Race Lottery
Have you ever wanted to run a big marathon, but just haven’t had the opportunity? Consider throwing your name in the lottery to see what happens. Applications for the NYC Marathon are open until March 21st and then applications for London should be open sometime in April.
2. Run a Timed Trial to Test Your Luck
Looking to test your fitness, but don’t have a race coming up? Try running one on your own! You could try a new/different distance like a 1 miler or 30 minute timed trial. You have nothing to lose and it could give you a good indication of where your current fitness is!
3. Join the Brooks Run Club

4. Race a New Distance or Run a Small Race

I wish we had races around here on St. Patrick’s Day. I love dressing up and having fun with a green theme.
The problem with entering a race lottery is that if I won I’d have to run another marathon! Not sure I could do that any more.

I was just remembering my weekly 5K time trials I did a few years ago (12 weeks worth, when Covid broke out) and my weekly 1-mile trials (a year later, and on the track, ugh!). While they did feel like a chore (towards the end), they were a great motivator!
