This week involved a little running and a lot of nesting. I’m happy to still be getting outside for a some miles a few times a week. However, with everything else I’ve had going on I’ve really had no choice but to cut back on my workouts. As it is I feel like I’m marathon training!
There were a few days this week when the wind was pretty bad. I made it through 3 miles on Tuesday but then didn’t run on Wednesday and Thursday. By the end of the week the wind had calmed down and the weather was pretty cooperative. I ran on Saturday instead of Sunday to avoid any possible rain. (While I typically don’t mind a little rain, I’m not about to risk slipping or falling!)
Instead of a formal workout on Sunday I spent the day assembling/putting away/washing/organizing baby stuff and making freezer meals. I almost didn’t even get around to writing this post but I needed some couch time after all that. However, this is going to be a quick one because I have some work to do tonight before another crazy week begins.
Seriously, I don’t think I’ve ever been so busy between work stuff and personal stuff. Everyone says it’s good to get used to it, but I’d like a little down time before the baby comes! I feel like I’m constantly juggling appointments, meetings, deadlines, trainings, etc. Not to mention my sleep has been hit or miss. I did have two baby showers at work this week which was such nice surprise! We got so many great things (hence the organizing that took place this weekend)
Anyway, enough complaining for now! Here’s how my workouts looked last week:
Monday: Strength Training
Tuesday: 3 miles
Wednesday: Strength Training
Thursday: 40 minutes spin bike
Friday: 3 miles
Saturday: 5 miles
Sunday: “Rest”
+/- 3 more weeks to go!

How were you workouts last week?
Did you have to deal with any wind?
Do you ever find that a rest day can be more exhausting than a day you work out?

So busy but all exciting stuff! You’ll figure all of it out when baby arrives. It’s been dreadful here with all the snow then rain on top, melting it gradually and yes, high winds on the weekend. Ugh.

I hope your weather improves! It’s too early for the winter weather to be so bad.

It’s pretty impressive all that you continue to do! But the countdown is on…
Have a great week!

Thanks! You too!

My workouts last week were good. I got a tiny bit of speed in on Saturday which felt really good on my legs post marathon. I can’t believe baby is so close! Fingers crossed you get a bit of down time before they arrive.
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
Thanks! I am hoping this weekend will be a little more low key. Glad you had some good workouts and got to add in some speed again!

It can get windy here when it’s snowing in the mountains. I got out for my run on Saturday and the sunshine was deceiving! The wind wasn’t bad, but cold. That gave me some extra motivation to keep moving until my run was done.
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
I definitely feel more motivated to keep moving when it’s really cold out!

I had a slow start to my week because I had a cold, then a backache, and a mostly a case of the blahs! But by the end of the week it turned around and I enjoyed getting some fresh air. Baby showers are the best. So nice that you had two at work! So much great stuff, right?
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
Yes, I was shocked at how generous everyone was! Glad your week of workouts turned out pretty good.

Woohoo – you’re in the home stretch now!
So nice that you had a few baby showers at work too!
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
It was really nice! Time is really flying now.

You have been training and now it’s taper time for the baby! I always thought it was fun to go through the gifts received and get them organized, assembled, washed, etc. for the big day. Good luck as you head into the home stretch. Thanks for linking!
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
It was fun but alot of work! Thanks!

You asked about wind…Well, Iowa is a windy place (at least in my area). My 5K on Saturday was like a hurricane (inland LOL), but with sleet and snow! So, 3ish weeks to go…in other words, baby could be here any day now 😉
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
Ugh, wind is one of the worst running conditions I think.
Yep, the countdown is really on now!

You are doing so well in your workouts as you get closer to your due date – it makes sense to scale back now. I’ve had some rest days that are more exhausting than run days, especially if travel or lots of errands are involved.
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
Sometimes I feel like the workouts or stress of the week can really catch up with me on rest days and make me feel even more exhausted!
Jessie says
Such an exciting time! How lovely that your work hosted two showers, sounds like a good team 🙂
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
They were both so nice! I was really surprised and everyone was so generous.

This is amazing and so inspiring. I’m about to start my second trimester and I hope that when I get to the third I am as active as you are. I think I would miss running! Good luck as you get ready for the baby!
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
Thanks! I think that everyone’s experiences are so different. I think just getting out there consistently helped a lot. Good luck with staying active through your pregnancy!

I think it’s pretty amazing how much you still get done… I know pregnant ladies who take it as an excuse to stop any kind of htexercise, so kudos for every mile you get done!

Thank you!
