Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Smoothie

Have I ever mentioned that I typically live off of smoothies, especially in the summer? Now that the weather is getting warmer they are back to being a part of my regular meal planning rotation. I created this smoothie on Saturday, after my 10 mile run. I wanted something quick and simple, to allow my muscles to begin recovering. A few week’s ago I won a sample of My Mix Protein Powder from Megan’s blog, so I wanted to include that as my main source of protein.

A sweet and satisfying smoothie with fruits, veggies, and protein powder. Perfect post-run or as a snack any time of day!

I used frozen bananas, blackberries, and spinach to ensure that my smoothie was nice and cold without having to add ice. (I usually just keep a bag of spinach in the freezer.)

As I said above, I used My Mix Protein Powder, which is chocolate flavored. Any chocolate protein powder will work!

And of course, a big scoop of peanut butter!

I love that smoothies are ready to go in less than 5 minutes, and the only real clean-up involved is washing the blender.

A sweet and satisfying smoothie with fruits, veggies, and protein powder. Perfect post-run or as a snack any time of day!

This smoothie is perfect post-run, for breakfast, or as a snack any time of day! Hope you enjoy it if you give it a try!

I love the addition of blackberries – and it makes the color so rich! Thanks for linking to Sunday Smoothie!

Thanks for hosting! I’ve been making random smoothie creations all the time, but now I just need to remember what I put in them, and take a couple pictures:)

I really like it so I’ve actually been using smaller scoops so that it lasts longer! I think I will end up buying some after its gone…but I will need to make it last a looong time:)

Looks delicious! Anything with bananas and peanut butter is great in my book. Also, the mug you are drinking with is awesome.

I usually cut my spaghetti squash in half, poke holes it, then flip it so the flesh is upside down. Seem to work best!

19 miles! 7 on the treadmill, 12 outside, 1,272 to 19 miles! 7 on the treadmill, 12 outside, 1,272 total feet of elevation gain. Amazing weather. Listened to Life of a Showgirl on the treadmill and had some podcasts saved for my outside run but couldn’t get my headphones to connect. This was challenging by the end and I kept thinking how hard it would be if I needed to run another 7 miles today (and all miles at a faster pace) but this is why we train. Feeling like I’m in a good place with 6 weeks to go! How was your run today? #run #marathontraining #longrun
And just like that September is over…but most of And just like that September is over…but most of it still felt like August. This month I ran 175 miles, my highest since last November. The long runs are getting longer, and I’m slowly feeling like my fitness is building. I can’t believe that by the time October is over I’ll be getting ready to taper for the marathon! Let’s hope October brings lots of good miles and maybe some cooler weather. Was September a good month of running for you? #september #marathontraining #running
Getting my hair untangled was a harder workout tha Getting my hair untangled was a harder workout than running 15 miles. When will it actually feel like fall? #running #marathontraining #fallrunning
15 mile long run workout this morning! Honestly, e 15 mile long run workout this morning! Honestly, every step of this felt challenging, so I’m pretty happy that I still hit my paces. I’m going to blame it on the humidity. WHY is it still so warm and humid when it’s almost October 😩🥵 I made the mistake of leaving my hair in a ponytail so of course it was a tangled mess by the time I was done. When will I learn? Just glad I got this done to wrap up week 9 of @richmondmarathon training! Is it still humid where you are? #run #marathontraining #richmondmarathon #longrun
