I feel like a broken record, but this was another exhausting weekend! So here’s what’s been going on around here lately….
A Saturday morning run….
Sent to Home Depot…came back with alcohol and coffee…
Rob learns how to take care of the lawn….
Wine at my parents’ after dinner…..
The packing never ends…..
At least there was chocolate….
And most importantly…I became an aunt this weekend!!
What did you do this weekend?
Do you ever make extra stops when you are sent on errands?
Did you run outside this weekend?
Mary Beth Jackson says
congrats on the aunt and uncle status- exciting! At least the weekend and chocolate and wine, yeah! I needed that too after working on our taxes! UGG! Happy Monday!
[email protected] says
Thanks! Chocolate and wine definitely help when you have a busy/stressful weekend. Have a great week!
Kelli says
Wow, congrats on becoming an aunt! I have a niece and nephew that I don’t get to see often because they live in Italy. Yard maintenance – looks like new construction. Was it seeded or sod? I’ve dealt with both – isn’t easy either way.
[email protected] says
Thanks! We won’t be able to see our niece as much as we would like either because they live in Arkansas.
Yep, its new construction and lawn was sod. We haven’t moved in yet but have been making trips there over the past few days to make sure it gets watered all the time- not fun!
M @readeatwriterun says
I try to combine as many stops as I can when I do errands or I pick just one to do if I have a short time – it varies and depends on the errand. Some are treats, and some aren’t.
Yes I DID run outside this weekend!
Congrats on becoming an aunt, great tshirts!
[email protected] says
Thanks! Its nice to be able to stop at other places when you are out doing errands. It makes me feel extra productive!
Tina Muir says
Chocolate always saves the day huh? I know things are tiring for you right now, but it will be so worth it 🙂 Hang in there! My weekend was nowhere near as productive as yours, and it kinda makes me mad, but I did have fun doing other things….so thats good right? 🙂
[email protected] says
It’s nice to have some weekends that are productive and others that are relaxing, I think! When they are all busy it makes them less enjoyable- although it is nice when you know you got done!
Kristina says
Congrats on becoming an aunt! How cute are those shirts?!
If I’m running errands that annoy me (going to Home Depot would be one of those, haha) I will make an extra stop and pick something up for myself – usually Starbucks or something caffeine related! 🙂
[email protected] says
Thanks! Home Depot definitely requires Starbucks:)
Michele @ paleorunningmomma says
Congrats on becoming an aunt! Very cool shirts 🙂 Adam is an expert at stopping at 5 extra places on an outing, and this only gets worse after kids!
[email protected] says
Thanks! Rob’s sister had the shirt made for us and sent them the week before the baby was due, telling us to wait until she was born to open it!
Susie @ SuzLyfe says
Congrats on becoming an auntie! It is such a weird thing–at least it was for us, because we are so separated from Alex’s brother by distance (but they are very close). Alex is so connected with his nephew, though. And yay for running!
[email protected] says
Thanks! Same for us- Rob is still really close to his family but his sister and her husband are in Arkansas and his parents are in Cleveland/Florida. We still see them quite a bit but its going to be hard to not be able to see our niece as much as we would like especially over the first year.
Wendy@Taking the Long Way Home says
There was wine here too!
Yes, my weekend was exhausting as well!
[email protected] says
Yay for wine! Not sure when weekends started becoming more tiring than the work week, but thats definitely how I have felt lately!
Beth @ RUNNING around my kitchen says
Packing is so exhausting! Chocolate and alcohol do help 🙂 Congrats on becoming an aunt!
[email protected] says
Thanks! Yep, it’s exhausting! And we are only just beginning the process…
misszippy says
Ahhh…congrats Auntie! How fun. I think you made the right purchases at Home Depot! ; )
[email protected] says
Thanks!
And I think coffee and wine are pretty much required if you survive a trip to home depot:)
Marcia says
Aww congrats Auntie and Uncle! I was my oldest niece’s birthday yesterday (sweet 16!!) and I well remember the excitement when she was born. It was gorgeous here and I ran outside both days. Felt great after that horrendous winter.
[email protected] says
Thanks! We are so excited. This weather is definitely a wonderful change from all the cold, snow, and ice we had all winter!
Chelsea @ runner's table says
Congrats on being an aunt! I hope you had a great run this weekend. It must be nice to be back on the road!
I did a race on Saturday, so that was my only run for the weekend, but we went hiking on Easter morning, and then for a long walk after dinner and chocolate. It was a great weekend!
[email protected] says
I wasn’t outside running for long but it felt SO good to be out for a bit! I needed some fresh air and sunshine!
Sounds like you had a busy but fun weekend!
Sue says
Congrats on becoming an aunt! The T-shirts are cute. We had a great brunch at Katie and Mike’s, and Louie and his family moved this weekend, so I was helping with the 3 kiddos. Very busy, but great weather! I love chocolate too!
[email protected] says
Sounds like fun! I didn’t know Louie was moving- hopefully they aren’t going too far from you guys! It was so nice to have a sunny weekend for once:)
Suzy says
Extra stops on errands? If I get the chance to run errands without kids, then yes. I will all of a sudden need to stop a bazillion times for all sorts of odds and ends. Haha! I keep am ongoing to-do list on my phone and whenever I get some free time I just go through as much of that list as possible. Congratulations on becoming an auntie! Babies are the best.
[email protected] says
The ongoing to-do list on your phone is a great idea. I feel like I have so much to go lately and about 3 different lists that I never seem to have with me.
Lesley says
Congrats aunt! My weekend involved wine too, though I didn’t post the picture. With my mom visiting, we got through 3 bottles of wine during her visit 🙂
[email protected] says
Thanks! And I hope you had fun with your mom! Weekends like that are meant for indulging a bit, right;)
Sara @ Lake Shore Runner says
Congrats on being an aunt! So exciting. I am excited for my 4 year old nephew to visit me next weekend. I can’t believe he is already 4 – I have full convo’s with him. Crazy! Yay for also being able to get a run in. Glad your legs are cooperating. This weekend I noticed a pull in my hamstring on my bad leg again. I’m hoping it works its way out before the half. Happy Monday!
[email protected] says
Thanks Sara! I am so excited to have a niece but I wish we lived closer to them!
Sorry to hear about your hamstring- take it easy and hopefully it will clear up before the race!
Laura @ This Runner's Recipes says
Congrats on becoming an aunt! I think Home Depot should just sell wine and beer because it seems errands there then always involve trips to pick up some.
[email protected] says
Thanks! And alcohol at Home Depot is a genius idea!
Lauren @ ihadabiglunch says
Haha errands never end up the way they’re supposed to! You always end up buying more than you anticipated or making stops you weren’t prepared for. That’s half the fun of it, I guess. Congrats on becoming an aunt! Your guys’ shirts are the cutest 🙂
[email protected] says
Driving around the suburbs it was so easy to stop at other places! In the city if I drive anywhere its harder to make extra stops because nothing is “along the way”. So I have a feeling that my wallet is in trouble once we move!
Sarah @pickyrunner says
Yayyy so happy you got a run in this weekend and congrats on becoming an aunt!!!
[email protected] says
Thanks Sarah! It was so nice to actually be outside in some nicer weather!
Elizabeth says
Congrats on becoming an Aunt! That’s so exciting! I always seem to end up with extras when running errands! Alcohol and Coffee sound like great additions to a Home Depot trip!
[email protected] says
Thanks! I think that we pretty much needed those things with the busy day we had been having:)
Tara @ Running 'N' Reading says
HA! If I had to go to Home Depot, I would definitely need to follow it up with some alcohol, Lisa – hahaha! 😉 I always think I know where the thing is that I need and then end up walking around aimlessly, wondering how things have gone so wrong. I love your compression sleeves/shoes pic; hope you had a great run! Thanks so much for linking up with the blog today; congratulations on the new family addition!
[email protected] says
Thank you! Home Depot is an interesting place. I was shocked that I survived a trip there alone:)
Maddie@Dixie Runs says
Just seeing those packing pictures stress me out! No wonder you had to pick up some extra goodies during your errands. I always make extra stops… or pick up extra items not on my list.
I had a great 9 mile run outside.. it was beautiful in NC!
[email protected] says
This packing/moving stuff is really stressful and tiring! We have definitely been requiring extra coffee and alcohol lately:)
Glad that you had a great run in some nicer weather!
Kelly says
Congrats on becoming an aunt! I became a (kind of) aunt too, my best friend had twins on Sunday. 🙂 Enjoy!
And I did run outside both Saturday and Sunday…Sunday in the snow! Will it ever end?? (I’m in upstate NY, so the answer is often no…) I look forward to running without winter gear for a while…although I need to remind myself what this feels like when it’s 90 and I’m melting. 🙂
[email protected] says
Thanks, and congrats to you and your friend as well! One of my close friends is having twins this summer- it’s so exciting!
Oh wow I am so sorry that you had more snow this weekend! I think we all deserve at least a month or two of spring weather!
Sara @ lifebetweenthemiles says
Congrats on being an aunt, that is so awesome! Even though it was a busy week, it looks like it was partially (maybe minus the packing) fun! I love your compression sleeves, they are awesome and congrats on the run! Any weekend that has good food, drink, workout and family is a good one in my books! Hope you have a great week Lisa!
[email protected] says
Thanks! It was fun, despite being busy and a bit stressful:) I was so happy to be back outside in my compression socks/sleeves!
Natalie says
Yay for becoming an aunt! This is really exciting!!
Looks like you guys are making progress on the unpacking, shopping and lawn work! 🙂
Congrats on getting out for a run – I hope you are feeling better!
Have a great day!!
[email protected] says
Thank you! Everything is coming along- it feels like its been slow but there is just so much to do- we will get it done eventually!
Kelly @ The Fit Skool says
Congrats on becoming an aunt! That’s so exciting. Those T-shirts are so fun.
When I run errands my mind seems to go all over the place so I always make extra stops 😉
[email protected] says
Thanks Kelly! My SIL mailed us the t-shirts last week with instructions to wait until the baby was born to open them!
I like to think of running extra errands as being more productive- even if its more things I may not really need:)
Charissa says
Congrats on being an aunt! That’s exciting news! I love the shirts 🙂
I finally got some hot yoga in my weekend again and it felt great to stretch out. Plus I had fun with some of my family for Easter – it’s always good to spend time with them!
[email protected] says
Thanks! Hot yoga is the best…unfortunately my PT still doesn’t think its a good idea for me so I haven’t been doing that lately. Sounds like you had a fun weekend, too!
Megan @ Meg Go Run says
You are the best wife in the world to come back with that on a trip to Home Depot 🙂
[email protected] says
I definitely agree! 🙂
Meranda@Fairytalesandfitness says
Yay, that’s so cool you became an aunt on easter weekend. Congrats!
[email protected] says
Thank you!! We are all so excited:)
Lowanda J says
Wow! Congratulations!! I loved everything about your weekend and everything about this post. I’m a newbie to blogging and always looking for ideas. I love this and think this is something I may add to my blog weekly. Thanks so much for sharing! New follower here…:)
[email protected] says
Thanks for stopping by! Im glad you liked the post- usually I put a little more effort into my weekend recaps but this was a tiring one so a few sentences and pictures was about all I could handle!;)
Hailey says
Love the shirts! 🙂 Congrats! And I hope your Saturday fun was good! Hmm do I ever buy other things when I’m on an errand, yep anytime Target is involved haha 🙂 Have a great week, Lisa!
[email protected] says
Oh yes Target is a whole different story:) I always walk out of there with extra things.
Salt says
Awww congratulations Aunt Lisa!!!! That’s so cool!
It looks like you guys had fun. I love your run picture and plenty of wine was consumed with family this weekend for me. 🙂
[email protected] says
Aww congratulations on becoming an Aunt. Time to spoil them rotten. I’m sure the unpacking feels never ending. But nothing that alcohol and coffee won’t help with:)
Amber says
Cute PC sleeves! It was awesome running weather this weekend – I’m trying to soak it all in before the summer heat & humidity sets in… 🙂
I hateeee packing. One of the worst things about moving. Good thing there’s usually new and exciting things about moving to overshadow it.
Congrats on becoming an aunt!! I’m about to become a first time aunt myself this June 🙂
[email protected] says
Yay to becoming aunts! It’s so exciting! I just wish I lived closer to my niece.
Nicole@TheGirlWhoRanEverywhere says
That is a terrific weekend! I can’t think of a better thing to have happen than you becoming an Auntie! Congratulations!
Jennifer says
Congrats to your family! Random note – did you get the reunion email?
[email protected] says
Sorry for such a delayed response to this! I don’t think I got an E-mail but I did get the invitation in the mail. Not sure what parts I’ll be going to yet.
Lily Lau says
Congratulations to that lovely family! What an awesome experience, Lisa, I’m so glad for you! 🙂
[email protected] says
Thank you!
Nicole @ Foodie Loves Fitness says
Congrats on becoming an aunt! I actually became an aunt for the 4th time last week… and being an aunt is so fun!
[email protected] says
Congrats to you as well on becoming an aunt!
Lizzy says
Congratulations on being an aunt! That is super exciting. I love my nieces and nephews.
I can totally related to your Home Depot trip, lol. I felt like I was practically living at Home Depot after we bought our house and I remember thinking that it would be so much easier if I could browse the store with a beer in hand.
[email protected] says
That’s actually a genius idea! I think it would make the whole experience much more fun:)
Laura @ Mommy Run Fast says
Moving is such a huge job!! Sounds like you’re making progress. Hooray for becoming an aunt- you will love it! 🙂
[email protected] says
Thank you!:)
