Now that the Charles Street 12 is over I am not training for anything right now. I’ve just sort of been running for fun and trying to keep up with my workout routine. I’ve included some mini-workouts (not really planned) just to keep things interesting.
I’ll start out by sharing my workouts from last week and then I thought I would just sort of share what else has been going on since there’s not a whole lot of say about running right now. This weekend was Grayson’s 9 month birthday! We celebrated by taking pictures and going to the playground.
Weekly Run Down
Tuesday: Strength Training
Wednesday: 3.5 miles
Thursday: Strength Training
Friday: 3.1 stroller miles
Saturday: 7 miles
Sunday: 3.5 stroller miles
Now that I usually run on both Saturday and Sunday, Mondays have become a rest day. It works out because I go into the office on Mondays and Tuesdays so I have less time to work out on those mornings. On Tuesdays I usually strength train since I just do that in the basement.
This week’s runs
I decided to run early on Wednesday because I was working from home and wanted to be as efficient as possible. I even got started on a bunch of work while I was pumping before my run. We also got out for a quick mid-day walk. It was really hot out.
It was finally a bit cooler out on Friday! We got out for a stroller run after breakfast. I mentioned on Instagram how crazy our mornings are these days now that he eats solids. It makes it tough to do a whole lot in between naps and meals, but I’ve been trying to make a point of getting him out of the house more.
On Saturday morning I was in the mood to do a mini workout, so I ran 7 miles alternating hard and fast efforts. I was surprised at my pace and how good I felt.
Sunday’s stroller run felt a little tough. It was warmer out again and it was also my third day in a row of running. Luckily Rob came along so he pushed the stroller for half of the run.
Tuesday and Thursday were my strength training days this week. This was my second week of Phase 13. (I actually had to look up what Phase I am on because I’ve been doing this for so long).
We got out for a few walks this week which was nice. I’m looking forward to the cooler weather when we will be able to get outside in the middle of the day. We also went out to run some errands during lunch on Thursday. Luckily there was a Starbucks in the shopping center we went to. I needed it because for some reason Grayson decided to wake up at 3:45am. He hasn’t done anything like that in about 4 months now! I can’t even complain because he is generally a great sleeper, especially at night.
We didn’t do much this weekend, but somehow it felt really busy! I spent lots of time meal prepping during nap time on both Saturday and Sunday, and also did some cleaning. I used to be so good about meal prepping but I slacked off for a little while. This weekend I was able to make a bunch of big meals and put some of it in the freezer, so hopefully it was last awhile.
We went to a park with a playground for a few hours on Sunday. The weather was really nice so we just hung out on a blanket and then pushed Grayson in the swing for a bit. It was also his 9 month birthday (!!!) so that afternoon we took some pictures.
It’s crazy to think that he has been around for the same amount of time that I was pregnant with him! Seriously, this year is going so fast. While there are alot of good things to look ahead to, I also would like time to slow down. Even when I look at pictures of him as a newborn I feel like it was years ago, but at the same time just yesterday.
As for running, I’ve been looking at local 5ks but most likely if I do one it will be a last minute decision. So maybe I’ll try to do some fartlek runs or something in case that happens. We’ll see!
