WIAW At Our Favorite Restaurant

I’m not sure if I have mentioned this before but our favorite restaurant to go to for a nice dinner is Flemings. We had some gift cards and a coupon that we had been saving and decided to celebrate Saturday’s races with a good meal.

What I Ate At Our Favorite Restaurant

Shortly after we sat down the waiter brought over a bread basket. It came with some delicious spreads, although I don’t remember the flavors. I just know they were good.

bread

Of course but this point in the day we were ready for some wine, and there were they huge bottles on display behind our table. I couldn’t really get a good picture without looking super creepy…

Appetizers and Dinner

We decided to share the “Flemings salad” and calamari to start. They split the salad on two plates for us (I really appreciate it when restaurants do that).

We both got filet mignon. It was huge and so good. By this point I was starting to get full but I was still able to eat most of it.

sides

We shared two sides and they ended up being a little too heavy and cheesy for my liking. Mac n cheese and Flemings’ potatoes.

Dessert at our favorite restaurant

After dinner it was time for the most important part of the meal: dessert. This is the main reason why we love Flemings. You need to let the waiter know ahead of time if you want the chocolate lava cake because it takes extra time to prepare. We always say that we would be happy going here and just getting this dessert.

We were stuffed by the end in the best way possible! Once in a while you just need to treat yourself to an indulgent meal:)

Have you ever eaten at Flemings?

What is a dessert that you would be happy eating instead of dinner?

Flemings is a favorite of mine as well, and the lava cake is delicious. What a perfect way for you to end your race day!

That chocolate lava cake looks so good 🙂 I actually went out with friends last night and had vanilla ice cream for the first time in a while and it’s amazing how incredible dessert tastes when you don’t eat sugar all the time! Makes it a much more special treat.

Very true, but I have found that when I have “real” dessert now the sugar leaves me a little shaky! I think if the dessert is really good that once in a while its worth it:)

I love it when they give you bread baskets in restaurants! Although I always devour them and fill myself up before the main course comes!
I would take a slice of red velvet cake over the main course any day

That’s a problem for me too- eating too much bread before the meal! but its so good!

COOL taunt me with your favorite restaurant now that MINE is CLOSING. MEAN.
JK–Who doesn’t love a good steakhouse? Even vegetarians have it made (look at those sides!). I don’t eat steak often, but when I’m a steakhouse, you better believe I am all over that filet. mmmmmm hmm

Sorry for taunting you! I swear I didn’t mean it:) Steakhouses are my favorite place to eat out. As long as I know that I am getting a good steak, and I can pick some sides, I know I’ll be happy with my meal.

Never heard of it, but sounds like a fun place! Any place that serves bread is a place I will go and come back to!

Um….pretty much any dessert would do over dinner:) I am a sugar lover. Ironically I never ever get dessert at restaurants though…usually either I’m too full, or I don’t want to pay for a super over priced brownie when I can make one at home hah. But when I am rich…one day, I will buy dessert before dinner!

I usually don’t eat dessert out either! I am happy to bake my own stuff so I know what’s in it. But Flemings is one place where I make an exception:)

I would take peanut butter toast with honey over any meal and it doubles as a breakfast or a dessert 🙂

I’ve been talking about going to Flemings for awhile and have yet to go! You literally ordered the same things I would have- salad, filet, mac and cheese, and dessert. I would be leaving in a food coma but it would be 100% worth it. I miss steak. I haven’t had it since I moved.

I am so glad I am reading this right before my lunch break because my mouth is watering!

There are few things in this world that I love as much as a good filet mignon! It’s the best special treat! The perfect way to celebrate your awesome racing weekend!

It was such a great way to celebrate! Filet mignon is such an awesome treat:)

I love Flemings. We haven’t been there is a while. And for a dessert I’d eat as a meal? Red velvet cake with ermine frosting NOT cream cheese. My baby sitter growing up used to make it for us that way and it’s the best!

Your dinner looks amazing. I’m with you, I love when places will split something in half for you. Makes life way easier, especially since my boyfriend eats so much faster than I do.

Yum. I want filet mignon soon now.

Ha! My husband is not good at sharing either! At least when they split the plate for you, you will know that you actually get half!

19 miles! 7 on the treadmill, 12 outside, 1,272 to 19 miles! 7 on the treadmill, 12 outside, 1,272 total feet of elevation gain. Amazing weather. Listened to Life of a Showgirl on the treadmill and had some podcasts saved for my outside run but couldn’t get my headphones to connect. This was challenging by the end and I kept thinking how hard it would be if I needed to run another 7 miles today (and all miles at a faster pace) but this is why we train. Feeling like I’m in a good place with 6 weeks to go! How was your run today? #run #marathontraining #longrun
