Final Hawaii Photo Dump

We have been back from Hawaii for just over a week now, but it feels like it’s been months. I hope you will bear with me while I use this one last post to share some more Hawaii photos and relive some of the memories from the trip. I promise, next week I will be back to talking about running.

Not a lot of words, just some fun times and nice views…

Hawaii is simply a magical place. There really is no place like it in the world! We are going to have to cancel our Cabo Trip because of the threat of Zika, and it is so upsetting to me, but we are considering alternative locations, and Hawaii might me on the list!

I would definitely recommend it! I think the only downside is the long trip out there. And everything is kind of expensive. Sorry that you have to cancel your trip to Cabo!

Looks amazing. I really need to go there! Now THAT would be a runcation!

    Thanks for sharing!

I told Rob that when we go back we need to find some cool running trails. We would also love to do a marathon there some day!

Amazing pics! What was the weather like in the morning/evenings? Did it cool off some, or was it warm throughout the entire day?

      September 23, 2016 at 6:09 pm

It was pretty warm the whole time. Probably not any hotter than Florida though! There was a nice breeze most days.

Such pretty pictures! I went to Hawaii when I was in high school. My favorite part was going to a luau!

Hawaii looks uch a beautiful place. I have actually never been anywhere tropical. We had a Hawaiian vacation planned about 3 years ago but had to cancel it because Paul needed surgery. It sucked. We saved up a lot of money and lost some of it by canceling. 🙁

That’s terrible that you had to cancel your trip. I hope you can get there one day!

I loved Hawaii, but haven’t been back for almost 10 years. I’ve been to Kauai and Oahu, but would love to check out the Big Island and Maui too.

We really love Maui. We did Oahu the first time we were there but it was a little too touristy in Honolulu.

You don’t have to apologize for posting Hawaii anything! It’s my favourite place on earth. I went for my (first..haha) honeymoon and just about died with how much I loved it. The kids and I have a longstanding joke that whenever they’re whining about anything, like if they asked for candy in the checkout, I’d be like, “We can’t always get what we want. Do you know where I want to be right now?” and then they roll their eyes and answer, “Yes mom, Hawaii.” That was when they were little. I forgot about that actually! I need to bring it back up.

That is so great! I think I am going to start telling people that. Rob and I always say we want to be in Hawaii. If it wasn’t so far away we would totally move there.

Looks amazing! We were talking about going back to Hawaii next year but I don’t think it’s s going to happen. I’ve only been to Maui but that was quite spectacular, as you know.

Glad that Bloglovin is working! I had to make some changes but it wasn’t too hard.
Its definitely a long flight to Hawaii but I think its worth it, as long as you can stay longer than a week.

Beautiful pictures! So jealous of your trip to paradise! I’ve been to Maui, but it was many, many years ago. Looks like you had an amazing time – even getting caught in the rain! Welcome back to the real world 🙂

Gorgeous photos! What an unforgettable trip. I sort of wonder if I’ll ever go! Maybe when my kids are fully grown, a family trip would be nice.

That would be really nice! I would think the plane ride is too long for little kids. I’m sure they would appreciate it more when they are a little older too!

I am totally jealous of your Hawaii adventures as I have always wanted to go! We always talk about stopping in Hawaii on the way to/from the US (as Hawaii is smack bang in the middle of Sydney and the US) to break up the trip but we’ve never actually done it. Next time I think we have to!

Though, a friend just told me that you can fly from Sydney to Hawaii and then cruise all the way back to Sydney and there is NO weight limit on the boat so I think I need to do that and shop shop shop 😛

Fall is pretty good too but there’s nothing like Fall is pretty good too but there’s nothing like seeing the sunrise on a morning run! As an early morning riser I would be fine with a 4am sunrise but I know that’s not for everyone so I will just enjoy the 2 months of the year when the sun is up (almost) as early as me. #morningrunner #sunriserun
Let them be your reason, not your excuse. I coul Let them be your reason, not your excuse.

I could sit here and tell you how hard it is to train with 2 young kids. How I rarely get a full night’s sleep anymore. How they got me sick the week before my race. How my SI joint just isn’t the same since my pregnancies. But that wouldn’t be fair, because I need to listen to my own advice that I give them about how to keep working hard and that there will always be obstacles to overcome.

After my race on Sunday I was thinking about how my Kindergartner has been working for a special award all year long. Many times he has told me he just wants to give up, because he works so hard for months at a time and still hasn’t earned it. I keep telling him that if he keeps working hard he will earn it, but what’s most important is that he gives his best each and every day. All those good days add up and even if he doesn’t earn the award, it will mean he had a great year.

Don’t I need to take my own advice and remember that all the good training days add up, even if I don’t get the outcome I want on race day? Before my race he kept telling me to do my best, and that he would give me a prize (artwork) even if I don’t win. So maybe all the lessons I am teaching him are starting to pay off? #motherrunner #halfmarathon #frederickrunfest
I can pretty much see the humidity as I look back I can pretty much see the humidity as I look back on these videos. After a few days to process my race I am feeling better about how it went and starting to focus on what’s next. I guess it’s officially time to acclimate to the heat and humidity because it’s not getting cooler any time soon! My full recap is up at milebymileblog.com

Have you acclimated to the warmer weather yet?
