It’s hard to believe that it’s already time to start thinking about holiday shopping! The holidays are going to be so busy for us this year. I’ve already been trying to plan ahead for the busy holiday season but I am sure I will end up doing most of my shopping at the last minute. (Also, last year I was complaining about wrapping gifts at 9 months pregnant. Now I am wondering how I will do it with a 1 year old!) Rather than just my usual “holiday gift guide for runners” (which I am gong to try to work on next week) I thought I would do something different this year and share some gift ideas for active moms. However, most of these items can be used by anyone!

A Good Pair of Leggings
I’ve always spent a lot of time in the winter wearing leggings, but lately they are basically all I wear (other than sweatpants or pajamas). They can be worn for a workout, with a big sweater, or just lounging around the house. I wear the Lululemon Aligns but I’ve heard that the Colorfulkoala leggings are similar (for a fraction of the cost!)
Home Workout Equipment
Depending on who you are shopping for, this can be anything from resistance bands to weights to a spin bike. There’ nothing better than being able to get your workout done while at home! I wrote a post about what I have in my home gym as well as the top 5 items for a home gym. I also did a review of my treadmill.
A Nice Gym Bag
If the mom you are shopping for goes to an actual gym, then a gym bag would make a great gift. (Even if she doesn’t go to a gym, these kinds of bags are useful for so many other things too!) These Apera Performance Duffle Bags are great. They have lots of pockets, a separate compartment for shoes, and are really big.
FRE Skincare Products
If you follow me on Instagram you probably know that this year I started using FRE Skincare Products. I found that they really helped me skin to clear up after pregnancy and in those initial postpartum days. These products are formulated for skin that sweats, so they are perfect for anyone who is active! Next week is their huge black Friday sale, and you can save 50% using my discount code (MILEBYMILEBLOG)!
Fitness Tracker
On days that I don’t run or get in a formal workout it’s nice to be able to use my fitness tracker to get an idea of how many steps I’ve taken. It’s also a good reminder to get up and move around after sitting for a long time. I have the Garmin Vivofit which is simple but meets my needs.
One Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer
I have curly/wavy hair and have always straightened it before work or when I’m going out. It would take forever to blowbry and then use a straightener. I didn’t even necessarily want it to be pin straight, I just wanted to not have weird bumps from where my hair is the most curly. Last winter I heard about the Revlon One Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer. I decided to give it a try and I never looked back! I love that I can dry my hair using mostly one hand and it doesn’t shoot out hot air the way a blowdyer does. (I usually have Grayson in the bathroom with me when I’m doing my hair). It leaves some nice waves and if I want a straighter look I can always use the straightener after.
Aftershokz Headphones
It took me a really, really long time to find these Aftershokz Headphones. For a while I was trying out different kinds of wireless headphones and none of them worked well. They would fall out or get disconnected when I was out running. In 2017 I tried Aftershokz but the regular ones were too big for me. I tried to exchange them for the minis but couldn’t find them anywhere, so I just returned them. Then in 2018 I asked for the minis for Christmas and gave them another try. They fit perfectly and now they are all I use! I don’t notice them at all when I am running and they have never gotten disconnected. I used to hate wearing headphones when I ran but these make it so easy and comfortable.
Sports Bra
A good sports bra is one of the most important parts of a workout outfit. Most of mine are inexpensive (from Target or Walmart) but this year I also invested in the Brooks Juno Sports Bra. It’s so much more supportive than the other ones I wear and has adjustable straps.
On the Go Snacks
I never leave home without some snacks in my bag. I bet this is even more important for moms of older kids! My favorite snack bar has been Larabars. However, Grayson has a peanut/treenut allergy so I’m trying to not eat those as much (at least around him) and I’ve switched to Enjoy Life Chewy Bars.
Road ID
I’ve been using a Road ID for many years now, and it’s always good to know that if something were to happen that my information is easy to access. Now that I do stroller runs it’s even more important to have emergency contact information on me. There are so many different designs and styles now, you could even just buy a new one for someone if they already have an older one!
I hope this list gives you some ideas for what you can buy an active mom in your life. Like I said, these gifts don’t have to be only for moms! It might also give you some ideas of what you should put on your own wish life.
Who is the hardest person you know to shop for?
Have you started holiday shopping yet?
Which of these would you want for yourself?

These are all great ideas! I started shopping by buying just a few stocking stuffers but otherwise, nothing. I’m not one to get shopping done early.

I’m not either but I am hoping to get a head start on it this year!

Great gift ideas! That hairdryer is a throwback to when I was young and blowdryers just came out! They were all in one like that.
Tomorrow (Tuesday) I’m posting my holiday gift list and I have a linkup if you want to add this post!
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
I had no idea blowdryers used to be like that! It wouldn’t work for all styles but I’m really liking it right now. Thanks for letting me know about the link up! I will definitely join in!

My daughter has a hairdryer like that and her hair comes out so smooth.
I always have snacks with me and those Enjoylife chewy bars looks good.
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
I was surprised how much I liked the hairdryer but now I dont plan to go back to using a regular blowdryer!

I love my aftershokz mini. I was a bit hesitant st first for something not going into my hears and sitting on top but have learned to really like them and allows me to hear my surrounding. The only thing, they are hard to wear when wearing a hat or head warmer in the winter.
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
Agreed! I’ve only tried a few times and its been a little awkward.
