I finally feel like I can be completely honest in these month in review posts! Since April, I’ve been leaving out a huge part of my life which obviously has impacted my goals and workouts. Now that I’ve finally shared that I’m pregnant I will say that most of my goals for 2018 have gone out of the window. I still want to stay focused on certain things but I’m also allowing myself to just go with the flow, or at least try to.
These are the goals I set in January for this year:
My “dream goals” are still in place…for one day. As for the other goals, I’ll still be tracking shoe mileage, saving money, reading books, ands trying to avoid any injuries.
This month was a pretty good one. I had started to feel like myself again around mid-June, which was also around the time the weather warmed up. I felt good during all of July but I was also pretty busy with work and traveling. So once again, this month flew by!
I’m happy to say I’ve been sticking with my strength training which I know will pay off as time goes on. While running isn’t “easy” it still feels really good which I am grateful for. If only it weren’t so humid every single day…
I’ve actually been reading a ton of books lately, and have surpassed my goal of 6 for the year. Some of them have been pregnancy books (in May and June) and then I read a few books on vacation. So this is what I’ve read so far this year:
Roar by Stacy Sims
Running Rewired by Jay Dicharry. T
Mindful Running by Mackenzie Havey
Let Your Mind Run by Deena Kastor
Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng
Running Home by Alisha Perkins
Expecting Better by Emily Oster
The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand
Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng
The Mama Natural Week-by-Wek Guide to Pregnancy and Childbirth by Genevieve Howland
At the end of June I said that my goal for July was to keep up with my supplemental workouts. I think I did pretty well with that. I got in all my strength training workouts and 1 yoga session per week. The mobility and biking have been hit or miss though.
I’m not setting any goals for August, other than to just keep doing what I’m doing for as long as I can!
