We are finally getting close to the spring season, at least here in the US, which means warmer running weather. As usual the weather here in Maryland has been all over the place lately. For the most part it’s still been chilly but there have been a few warmer days sprinkled in. During the spring months I am transitioning my running clothes from my winter gear to my summer gear, and I’m usually wearing a little of both. I thought I would share some of my favorite running clothes and gear for spring 2025!

My Favorite Running Clothes and Gear for Spring 2025
Running Clothes for Spring 2025
Brooks Spark 8″ Short Tights
The Spark 8″ Short Tights from Brooks fit snuggly to prevent chafing but are not too tight and are comfortable enough to wear for a long run. The have a secure back pocket as well as two large side pockets. I wore these for all my warmer longer runs last year including my two half marathons.
On those days when it’s not quite warm enough for shorts I’ve been wearing the Spark Capris!
Brooks 3 Pocket Sports Bra
This 3 Pocket Sports Bra has been my go-to for a few years now. As the name implies, there are 3 pockets: 2 on the sides and one on the back that hold a phone. It also provides a lot of coverage. If I run outside in just a sports bra I want to wear something that is high cut, and this is perfect.
Running Socks
Last year I was sent Swiftwick’s Maxus Zero-Tab Socks to try out. These have a plush, high-cushion footbed and arch support that wrap snuggly around your foot. They are soft and sweat-wicking, and also made with sustainable material! They are a good addition to my collection of running socks.
Luxe Short Sleeve
It’s not often that I run in a short sleeve shirt, except a few rare days in the spring. Otherwise I’m either in layers/jackets or a tank top. Well, the luxe short sleeve is both perfect for layering or for wearing on its’ own. It’s soft and comfortable, and I’d wear this both for running or for just relaxing.
Canopy Jacket
We tend to have alot of rain in the spring. The Brooks Canopy Jacket is perfect for a rainy run in pretty much any weather. It’s light enough to wear in the spring but I also use it in the winter with layers underneath.
Zash 1/2 Zip
This Zash 1/2 Zip pullover is perfect for days that are still slightly chilly, but you can pull the zipper down for extra ventilation if you start to warm up.
Running Gear for Spring 2024
Pinnacle Pro 12 Liter Hydration Race Vest
As the weather warms up, it’s even more important to stay hydrated while running. This new vest from Nathan Sports features a compression fit with a new quick-fit size system and easily adjustable sternum slider cords with tons of storage options: It has 12 pockets and a 1.6L insulated bladder. I’ve been using this for all my long runs for the past month and I love it so far. I barely notice I am wearing it!
Zipster Max Running Belt
The Zipster Max Waist Belt is a nice and wide storage belt that can hold any size phone. It has 2L of storage capacity and 4 pockets, so you can fit all your gels, sunglasses, keys, and more! I got an XS- its a bit snug, but I like that it doesn’t move around. If I wore it in the winter when I had layers on I would need to wear it under my shirt.
Coros Armband Heart Rate Monitor
I love running data, but I have always struggled with wearing a heart rate monitor on my runs. I would wear my chest strap for a few runs and then end up with chafing and stop wearing it. Once I got the Coros Armband Heart Rate Monitor I started wearing it all the time. It actually does a great job at measuring your heart rate and its super comfortable and easy to clean. (I use a Garmin watch now, and this HRM still connects to it).
Running Shoes
Brooks Hyperion Max
My favorite shoe for faster runs has been the Brooks Hyperion Max. I’ve been wearing the Hyperions (which used to by the Hyperion Tempos) for a few years so I added the Hyperion Max to my shoe rotation. They have more cushioning and give the shoe more of a springy feeling on the run. I wore them for a half marathon as well as shorter speed workouts and some of my tempo runs.
For easy runs I’ve been wearing the Glycerin 22s. They have soft cushioning that makes you feel like you can run forever. If you are a fan of cushioning, these are worth checking out. I have noticed that the feel of the Glycerins have changed over the year but I really like this update!
So that’s my list of running clothes and gear that I’ve been loving this spring! Most of it I’ll be using all summer as well.

I love shorts with lots of pockets! I found an interesting pair a couple of weeks ago, which has a back pocket big enough for a phone. Usually I have the phone in a side pocket, which gives me an uneven feel. I love it – I should have bought two or three pairs!
I definitely need pockets when I run (which is why I have worn skirts for so many years). The sports bra with pockets also sounds great.
I love the new spark capri! The material is so soft and comfy. That heart rate band looks interesting . I. Have been using a chest strap version but don’t wear it all the time.
SkirtSports skirts (cuz they have pockets)
SkirtSports tanks
Topos running shoes
Baseball cap
Goodr glasses
Intrigued by the 3 pocket bra. Thanks for sharing your list of summer faves 🙂
The canopy jacket is so versatile and has been my favorite for years
skirtsports skirts and capris because they have pockets. Baseball cap, races shirts that fit. Of course my Topos shoes.
I like my running shorts from old navy and the distance 3.0 tanks and long sleeves from brooks. Jogology socks and goodr shades. Done.
I love bras with pockets! I always carry my phone so if my shorts/tights don’t have pockets I need that bra.
