As a runner and mom of two young kids, it seems like I always have tight, achy muscles. If I’m not recovering from a workout then I’m probably feeling tired from holding an infant, carrying a diaper bag and carseat, or pushing a toddler in the jogging stroller. So needless to say, I appreciate any kind of relief I can get, especially when it’s easy to do! The Bob and Brad Air 2 Mini Massage Gun has been perfect for quickly massaging out my sore, tight muscles.
I received this product in exchange for my honest review, and of course all opinions are my own.
What’s Included with the Mini Massage Gun
The mini massage gun comes in a small carrying case with it’s accessories. There is the mini massage gun, charger, and extra attachments.
How to Use It
When you first use the massage gun you will want to make sure it is charged. It can take up to 180 minutes to fully charge but then it will stay charged for several hours. There is a built-in timer that automatically turns off the device after 10 minutes of continuous use.
You can decide which attachments to use based on the body part you are going to use it on. These are the recommendations:
- Large ball: For large muscle groups like quads
- Standard ball: A more targeted option for overall use
- Air cushion: For extra sensitive areas
- U-Shape: For spine, neck, and shoulders
- Bullet: For pinpoints and small muscle groups
I think the standard ball works great but it’s really nice to have other options. I especially like the small attachments for my upper body.
Noise Level of Bob and Brad Air 2 Massage Gun
When I first used this mini massage gun my husband walked into the room and said he didn’t even hear me using it. This is a great feature when you don’t want to disturb others, like when you have kids sleeping in the other room or if you finally get them settled down doing an activity and just want a minute to use a massage gun. It’s also great that my husband can watch TV while I use it and it’s not going to be annoying.
Effectiveness of Massage Gun
The mini massage gun has 3 settings and 12mm amplitude for a deep tissue massage. Most of the time I use it on the first or second setting and that feels strong enough for me. It’s nice to be able to set it higher or lower depending on your muscles and what you can tolerate. When I am really sore I need to leave it on a lower setting, but for larger areas I am used to massaging like my glutes I can use a higher setting.
Comfort
This mini massage gun is compact and lightweight, weighing only about 1 pound. My favorite feature of this mini massage gun is the ergonomic design. The triangle shape with a concave surface and curved angles give it a super comfortable grip during use. It makes it so much easier to use it on hard to reach areas like my back.
Does the Bob and Brad Mini Massage Gun work well?
Yes! I put this massage gun to the test last week when I was sore from adding in some new strength exercises with heavier weights. The next day my quads were so sore along with pretty much everything else. I took a few minutes to use the massage gun and it really helped to loosen things up. I also felt significantly better by the next morning and was able to go for a run with minimal soreness.
How it compares to other massage guns
I have several massage guns, 2 that are full sized along with the Theragun Mini. I typically reach for my mini massage gun because it’s easier to keep accessible in my house. In terms of effectiveness, I think the Air 2 Mini Massage Gun works just as well as the others I own. It feels stronger than my oldest full size massage gun and about the same as the Theragun Mini. However, the advantage of the Air 2 Mini is that it is quieter and easier to hold. It also costs much less than other massage guns at $69.99 on Amazon. You can also save 10% with the code BBAIR2YT.
If you are looking for a great recovery tool, you can’t go wrong with the Bob and Brad Air 2 Mini Massage Gun.

I love my Bob and Brad massage gun especially how quiet it is. I have a few massage guns too and it’s definitely the quietest.
