The Humidity Just Won’t Quit & Baby Shower Weekend

The Humidity Just Won't Quit & Baby Shower Weekend

It feels like the humidity just won't quit around here. Even on the days that are slightly cooler, the humidity is still there. It's the second week in October and I haven't even worn a long-sleeved shirt yet once for a run! Why does it always feel like the seasons linger when we are ready for the next one? I'm sure if next April/May are cold I'm going to be wishing for warm weather. It also makes me worried that we are ... Read the Post...

Month in Review: September 2018

pace

I think it's especially hard to believe that September is over already because it's still felt like August for pretty much the entire month. While I do love summer weather I have pretty much been over the humidity for a few weeks now. We also had quite a bit of rain this month. Luckily it didn't impact my running too much. Let's take a look back on how September went.  Here are my other monthly check-ins from this ... Read the Post...

Weird Things About Running While Pregnant & Weekly Wrap

saturday 10 miles

This weekend I couldn't help but thinking about some of the weird things about running while pregnant. Maybe I'm just starting to notice a difference now as I've entered my third trimester. For the most part I felt pretty normal running during the second trimester, although I was much slower. The first few months of pregnancy were a real struggle. I could barely run for more than a few minutes at a time! Weird things ... Read the Post...

Babymoon in Dever, CO

denver running

I wanted to get this post up last week after we got back from our babymoon, but it just didn't happen. Better late than never, right? When we were trying to make our travel plans at the last minute it was helpful to read other blogs about what people did in different cities on their babymoons, and it gives me an excuse to share some of the pictures we took! If you want to read more about the running we did in Denver, ... Read the Post...

Getting my hair untangled was a harder workout tha Getting my hair untangled was a harder workout than running 15 miles. When will it actually feel like fall? #running #marathontraining #fallrunning
15 mile long run workout this morning! Honestly, e 15 mile long run workout this morning! Honestly, every step of this felt challenging, so I’m pretty happy that I still hit my paces. I’m going to blame it on the humidity. WHY is it still so warm and humid when it’s almost October 😩🥵 I made the mistake of leaving my hair in a ponytail so of course it was a tangled mess by the time I was done. When will I learn? Just glad I got this done to wrap up week 9 of @richmondmarathon training! Is it still humid where you are? #run #marathontraining #richmondmarathon #longrun
Yesterday’s’ long run was 16 miles with 6 x 1 Yesterday’s’ long run was 16 miles with 6 x 1 mile MP/1 mile easy. I took a few hours of PTO in the morning to do this on the trail because I knew wouldn’t be able to do it this weekend. This was my first time on the trail since my marathon last November. It was nice to be back there and the perfect place to do this kind of long run. It was the kind of run where you start thinking “ok cool I just did a tough MP workout” but then you remember you actually need to run 26 miles in a row at that pace. Luckily there’s still 9 more weeks of training…although that doesn’t really sound like that much!
41 miles for the week and got in 2 strength sessions. Taking it easy this weekend other than chasing the kids around for all their activities! #run #marathontraining #longrun
It’s kind of freeing to not care about pace. It It’s kind of freeing to not care about pace. It is a little frustrating to have to plan more time for an easy run. But it’s definitely worth it to recover quicker and feel better on workout days! #run #marathongtraining #easyrun
