Meal Planning And Prep: Whole30 Week 1

whole30week1

Well, I am almost through my first week of the Whole30! I would say it's going well so far, and hasn't been too difficult. I am still working on adding new things to my meals and making sure they are more filling so that I don't feel as much of a need to snack. Today I will be sharing my meal planning and prep for last week and maybe I will give you some ideas for the upcoming week!  Meal Plan ... Read the Post...

Two Things You Should Try This Weekend

barre

It's finally Friday!! I am actually really excited to not have any plans for the weekend. Not even a set run planned. It's definitely a nice feeling after how busy things have been for the past month.  I just wanted to pop in this morning and share two great things I discovered this week. They're pretty much unrelated, but both worth trying this weekend if you are looking for a new glute burner or a warm, hearty ... Read the Post...

Thinking Out Loud #32: Winter Complaints

Mile by Mile Running

Happy Thursday, everyone! Please bear with my today while I take some time to share come winter complaints! Do you know that when I went to write that sentence I had no idea if it was "bear with me" or "bare with me"? So of course I turned to google: Answer: Bear with me is a standard expression used as a request for forbearance or patience. Ex: Please bear with me a moment so I can find the homework exercise for ... Read the Post...

Whole30 Days 1 & 2 (WIAW)

banana

Since today is Wednesday is only made sense to share what I have been eating for the Whole30 so far. While it's not much different from what I usually eat, there are a few things that have been a little challenging already. The first is that I'm trying to not rely on snacks as much. I seem to have been more hungry than usual for some reason and my snack options feel more limited. I used to have a LARABAR ... Yesterday’s’ long run was 16 miles with 6 x 1 Yesterday’s’ long run was 16 miles with 6 x 1 mile MP/1 mile easy. I took a few hours of PTO in the morning to do this on the trail because I knew wouldn’t be able to do it this weekend. This was my first time on the trail since my marathon last November. It was nice to be back there and the perfect place to do this kind of long run. It was the kind of run where you start thinking “ok cool I just did a tough MP workout” but then you remember you actually need to run 26 miles in a row at that pace. Luckily there’s still 9 more weeks of training…although that doesn’t really sound like that much!
41 miles for the week and got in 2 strength sessions. Taking it easy this weekend other than chasing the kids around for all their activities! #run #marathontraining #longrun
It’s kind of freeing to not care about pace. It It’s kind of freeing to not care about pace. It is a little frustrating to have to plan more time for an easy run. But it’s definitely worth it to recover quicker and feel better on workout days! #run #marathongtraining #easyrun
You know marathon training is starting to get real You know marathon training is starting to get real when you start losing track of what training week it is. I had to check my calendar but this was week 6, so 10 weeks to go!

I ran the Charles Street 12 last weekend so this week was all about easy miles and recovering from the race. That went well until I went and ran all the hills yesterday followed by walking around a maze and fun park for 5 hours. I got in some strength and mobility this morning and now I’m back to focusing on recovery!

If you’re training for a race how many weeks do you have left?

15 miles, over 1,100 feet of elevation gain, and 9 15 miles, over 1,100 feet of elevation gain, and 91% humidity 🫠 Pretty sure that was harder than my race last weekend, but got it done. Now off to my second workout of the day- taking the kids to an outdoor fun park. RIP to my legs.
What are you up to this weekend?
