Often times when we are trying to create new habits we give up on them quickly because they don’t fit into our lives, or they are too overwhelming, or we just don’t have the capacity to do them. Instead, we can focus on creating tiny habits for our running that will help us to actually be consistent and successful. Based on the book “Tiny Habits” I came up with some ideas to create tiny habits to take your running to the next level.

I completed my 8th marathon, the NCR Marathon, on the NCR trail in northern Maryland which is considered a small, local race. While training for this I definitely had my doubts along the way. This was my first marathon after having my second baby in July 2023 and life has been a little crazy this year! In the end it all worked out and I met my goal, and I am so glad I ran this race. I'm hoping to share my experience for anyone else who is having their doubts about running a marathon or is considering running this race.

Listened to Life of a Showgirl on the treadmill and had some podcasts saved for my outside run but couldn’t get my headphones to connect. This was challenging by the end and I kept thinking how hard it would be if I needed to run another 7 miles today (and all miles at a faster pace) but this is why we train.
