Free Online Yoga Video Sources for Runners

Over the past month or so I have gotten back into the habit of including yoga in my weekly workout routine. I don’t go to a yoga studio and I find that I am much more likely to keep up with it if I have easy access to a wide variety of classes at home. I put together a list of the free yoga video sources I have been using lately.

Looking to start an at-home yoga practice? Here are some places to find free online videos to get you started! #yoga #yogaforrunners

Depending on what I am in the mood for I usually search a few of these to find the class I want to take. Otherwise, when I just do a generic search on YouTube I never really know what I’m going to get. By searching specifically for classes within these sites I know I am going to get a good yoga class.

Free Online Yoga Video Sources for Runners

Yoga with Adrienne

Adriene has tons of class options and I can pretty much always find what I am looking for. I like her laid-back style of teaching and it sort of makes me feel like I’m in a class with her rather than doing yoga by myself at home.

Fightmaster Yoga

Lesley Fightmaster also has lots of class options and a very soothing voice. I’ve been using her classes for years and they never disappoint.

Do Yoga with Me

I like this site for really being able to search for what kind of class I am looking for. You can filter by duration, level, style, and teacher. I’ve run into a few classes that I didn’t like much, but I pretty much know right away if its worth my time. They have a few videos for runners that are good.

Five Parks Yoga

I recently learned about this site from Wendy and so far I really like it. All the classes take place with a scenic background. This was where I found the yoga for runners video that left me sore last week!

Yoga with Tim

I’ve only taken one class from here but it was good, and it looks like there are a lot of other great class options to choose from. He gives really great cues which make me feel like I get more out of the class.

Now that I have found some good resources for free online yoga classes, I really hope that I can keep up with it!

I think she probably introduced me to some of these resources back then! I remember that guide!

I’ve done a few of the Five parks yoga classes and currently I am doing some from AAptiv. Always great to have options when you cannot get to class

I’ve never heard of AAptiv- I will have to look into that!

I feel like I should get into yoga to help my running and to use it as cross training. I’ll definitely check all of these out. Thanks for sharing Lisa!

I’m really loving the online yoga classes I’ve found. You know I love Five Parks Yoga–Erin is such a creative instructor and very calming. I’ll have to try some of the others.

Thank you so much for providing such a valuable resource. I am bookmarking this page. I love to do yoga, but the classes at our local rec center don’t always fit my schedule. When I go online and just do a general search, the results are decidedly uneven. I appreciate this so much!

I’m glad you think its helpful! I know that when I just search for classes I get some weird stuff that comes up. Hopefully you will find some classes you like!

Ha! Yes, free is always best! At this point I don’t think I would do yoga if I had to pay for it.

I remember back in the day when I had to buy workout VHS tapes or borrow them from the library. I wish I had all these resources back then. Oh well, it makes us appreciate youtube and the like more, right?

      May 18, 2018 at 6:32 pm

Seriously! I still have some of my old workout DVDs and its so weird to think that you had to buy them and then do the same workouts over and over.

This is a great resource. I have been to neglectful of my yoga practice even though I know how much it helps me. I do better when I go to a studio, but I love having the resources at home.

      May 19, 2018 at 3:50 pm

While I know I get more out of going to a studio, I just don’t make the time for it. I figure taking classes at home is better than nothing!

I’ve been afraid to try any yoga again since limiting my stretching (due to hamstring issues). There have been several “yoga and beer” classes popping up around my town lately, and I’ve really been missing out! Looks like my friends are having a good time with it.

    • Lisa @ Mile By Mile says

      May 19, 2018 at 3:51 pm

That’s so frustrating! I wonder if you could find any classes that would let you modify poses so you don’t aggravate your hamstrings. Or maybe you can just do the beer part of the class while everyone else does hamstring stretches:)
