I keep needing to remind myself that it’s actually September now. This is always such a weird month because it sounds like it should be fall but it’s still pretty hot out. September is going to be another busy month so I have a feeling this one will fly by too, and soon enough I will be complaining about the cold weather!
Overall this was a really good week of workouts. I didn’t go into the week with much of a plan but ended up following the same schedule that I’ve been following most other weeks. While I skipped yoga once again (my iPad kept crashing) I did do some stretching after all my runs so that should count for something, right?
Monday: 5 miles + mobility
The usual 5 miles on a Monday morning and the heat and humidity returned after a cooler weekend.
Tuesday: Strength Training + 3 Miles
Nothing significant to report about this workout!
Wednesday: 6 mile Fartlek run
This was week 3 of the same fartlek workout:
1 mile warm up
2,3,4,5,4,3,2 minutes hard with 2 minutes recovery after each
cool down to 6 miles
I like this workout because it’s challenging but not too hard, and goes by quickly! I managed to run faster than the past 2 weeks even though it was hotter/more humid.
Thursday: Strength Training + 3 miles
My treadmill was being weird at one point and when I tried to change the speed to 6.0 the incline would change to 3%. I guess it’s a sign I should be running more hills!
Friday: 3 miles
I was planning to do yoga but my iPad kept crashing. It’s 7 years old so I can’t complain too much. I like to keep it in my basement for workouts and I didn’t feel like going upstairs to get my laptop after 10 minutes of fighting with my iPad. So instead I just did some extra stretching.
Saturday: 13.1 Miles
Not sure how I ended up running this long, because I really only set out for 10 miles. I was feeling good and just went with it.
Sunday: Rest!
After 33 miles this week I needed a lazy rest day! I did get outside for a short walk with Rob.

How were your workouts last week?
Ever has issues with buttons on the treadmill?
Does it feel like September to you?
Sarah @ merrillthon says
Great week! That fartlek seems like a fun workout, and sometimes it’s nice to not be regimented about mileage and just run what feels good. I feel the same way you do about September – the relief from the summer heat is minimal to nonexistent here.
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
It still definitely feels like summer, and I think it’s actually been hotter over the past week than it was the rest of the summer!
Sarah @ Bucket List Tummy says
Wow, 13 Miles! You are doing awesome! Glad you continue to feel ok!
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
Thank you! Me too!

I am still in shock that it’s September – I’m excited because that makes it spring here, but it also means the year is almost done! I think you deserved that lazy rest day too!
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
The year is really flying by!

September is my favorite month! The weather is usually warm but pretty nice here. Hopefully, our rainy days will stop. We’ve had so much rain.
My treadmill seems to have a mind of its own too! LOL
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
At this point I’m not holding my breath for cooler weather but hopefully by the end of the month it will start to improve.

Awesome week of mileage!
I’m so happy that it’s finally September. Now if only the weather would get the memo and stop with the 100 degree temps!
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
Seriously! I think it’s been hotter this week than it’s been all summer. I guess its good we are all acclimated to the heat at this point.

Yesterday felt great and I had the windows open for the fresh air. It’s hard to tell if fall is on the way, and I know it has arrived in the mountains. I hope today is the same way since I really like fresh air over the AC.
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
Sounds like you are having some nice weather out there!

I love the purple and orange socks!
Congrats on the accidental half marathon
If you need a cheaper replacement for the iPad, I just treated myself to a Kindle Fire since I couldn’t justify the cost of an iPad for as little as I use it. It’s so useful.
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
That’s a good idea! I haven’t really thought about replacing it but if it totally dies I feel like I will need something for my workouts.

I love seeing how well your running has been going for you during the second trimester! Great work on a strong week of running. It does feel like September here – cool in the mornings, then pleasantly warm in the afternoons. I really enjoy the temperatures being in the 50s again on my morning runs!
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
That sounds like perfect running weather!
Liz Dexter says
Some good workouts there! Fancy your treadmill setting your run FOR you, though – hilarious!
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
Crazy, right?! I guess that’s one way to make sure I get in a challenging workout.
Coco says
Yikes on the treadmill – I think I’d find that really disconcerting! I don’t think I could ever run 3 extra miles without trying really hard!
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
I hope the treadmill doesn’t do that again!
Kimberly Hatting says
It does feel odd to be calling this September…it’s been so August-like hot & humid LOL
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
Yep! I think the past few weeks have been the hottest of the whole summer.
angela @ happy fit mama says
Wow – nice job on the mileage this week! I’d say pregnancy running is agreeing with you. It really doesn’t feel like September here. It was mid 90s with soupy humidity today. Over it!
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
I just really hope the humidity goes away and we can still enjoy some nicer warmer weather before it starts to get cold!
HoHo Runs says
Great week! The second trimester is definitely agreeing with you! It doesn’t feel like September here. In fact, we are bracing for a tropical storm this week. Ugh. That means tons of humidity. My TM (which I gave away) had speakers that would play music from your device. Except, they were horrible with tons of static. That drove me nuts. I’ll send you the info for your gift certificate from On Your Marq tomorrow. Thanks for being such a loyal linker over the years!
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
The static from the treadmill would definitely be annoying! Thanks for hosting the giveaway!
Marcia says
Great week! That’s so weird you mill does that. Knock wood, mine is almost 18 years old and still going strong. I’m so impressed you’re able to run those kind of miles and paces even in the heat while pregnant. Amazing!
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
I think the treadmill error was just a fluke- at least I hope so!

Ugg I hate when technology fails us! I would have done the same thing you did
.haha
Lisa @ Mile By Mile says
Technology can definitely be frustrating at times!
