Holiday Gift Guide for Runners 2017

It’s already that time of year when we start to think about holiday gifts. Similar to past years, I’ve put together a list of some gifts that runners would love!  A few of these are repeats from past years, others are new items I’ve come across recently. Make sure you head to the bottom of the post for a running gift giveaway!

This post contains affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Looking for the perfect gift for a runner? (Or for yourself?) Check out this holiday gift guide, with everything from gadgets to clothes to books and more!

Clothing/Shoes

Looking for the perfect gift for a runner? (Or for yourself?) Check out this holiday gift guide, with everything from gadgets to clothes to books and more!

Oiselle Flyout Tights I love that these tights have a thick waistband and a big pocket. I definitely want to try them out!

Brooks Levitate These have been my newest favorite shoes (I also wear the Pure Flows and Launch). They fit like a glove and have just enough cushioning, but not too much. If you are a neutral runner, you should definitely give these a try!

Thorlos Experia Running Socks Looking for a warm pair of running socks? These are perfect for winter runs. I’ve been wearing these for years.

Brooks Dash Arm Warmers I’ve been on the lookout for some new arm warmers and I like that these cover part of your hand. Perfect for days that are too warm for gloves!

FIrefly Reflective Headband  This headband is reflective and reversible, and I like that it’s wide so it looks like it won’t move around too much.

Accessories

Looking for the perfect gift for a runner? (Or for yourself?) Check out this holiday gift guide, with everything from gadgets to clothes to books and more!

Aftershokz Trekz Titanium Wireless Bluetooth Headphones Remember how I was on the lookout for some wireless headphones? I still haven’t invested in a a pair, but i’m thinking about trying these. I don’t do well with “earbud” style headphones and I like that these don’t even go in your ears.

Qalo Women’s Stackable Twist Silicone Ring I’ve wanted to get one of these ever since I fell while running and broke a finger (on my left hand). Luckily I wasn’t wearing my wedding rings while I was running that day. Now I rarely wear them while exercising because it makes me nervous. It would be nice to be able to wear something while I work out again!

Garmin Vivoactive 3 I’m not in the market for a new Garmin (I just got a new one last year) but I think this one looks nice. It seems to have all the bells an whistles but is a (relatively) reasonable price. I also like the style- mine is so big which is my one complaint about the Garmin 235.

Hydroflask I have big Hydroflask, but it doesn’t fit in the cup holder in my car. I want to get a smaller one for that and then I would still use the big one while I’m at work.

Bodyglide Skin Glide Anti-Friction Balm Everyone needs body glide, right? I’ve learned my lesson over and over to always make sure I have some on hand, and actually use it!

Running Safety

Looking for the perfect gift for a runner? (Or for yourself?) Check out this holiday gift guide, with everything from gadgets to clothes to books and more!

Knuckle Lights I still run with a headlamp, but I’ve wanted to try Knuckle Lights for a long time. Maybe this will be the year!

Run Angel I’ve had my eye on this device for a little while now. I’m always curious about running products that help us stay safe, especially since I run alone in the mornings.

Amphipod Xinglet Reflective Vest I’ve been wearing this vest for years and get alot of questions about it! It works well for me I barely notice it while I am running.

Books
Looking for the perfect gift for a runner? (Or for yourself?) Check out this holiday gift guide, with everything from gadgets to clothes to books and more!

Run Fast East Slow After Shalane’s big win a few week’s ago, I think everyone is trying to make some of the recipes from her cookbook! I’ve had this for a year and still make many of the recipes frequently.

Believe Training Journal Each year I include this journal on my list. It’s perfect for tracking workouts and also has lots of other helpful space for planning and getting inspired!

Running Rewired This book hasn’t come out yet, but I am definitely planning to get it when it does! I love Jay Dicharry’s last book, Anatomy for Runners, so I expect this one to be good as well!

I’ve heard great things about them! I run in the dark during the week and my headlamp has not wanted to stay put on my head lately for some reason.

I have one of those Hydroflask and that is awesome! Keeps water super old for long. I am looking into some wireless headphones for Christmas. I don’t know about the aftershocks. I’m not sure how I would feel wit them sitting on my ears and not in them.

    • Lisa @ Mile By Mile says

      November 22, 2017 at 4:53 am

The hydroflask is great! And I am unsure about the Aftershokz too but Ive heard great things! And I think its good that you can still hear outside noises while wearing them.

I have the Aftershokz earbuds and am so impressed with how they work! I will actually have a review of them on my blog in a couple weeks. They are definitely worth the price! I want the Compete training journal this year.

I’m trying not to look at any of the Garmins – I want a new one, but mine works just fine.

19 miles! 7 on the treadmill, 12 outside, 1,272 to 19 miles! 7 on the treadmill, 12 outside, 1,272 total feet of elevation gain. Amazing weather. Listened to Life of a Showgirl on the treadmill and had some podcasts saved for my outside run but couldn’t get my headphones to connect. This was challenging by the end and I kept thinking how hard it would be if I needed to run another 7 miles today (and all miles at a faster pace) but this is why we train.
