Master Your Fueling and Hydration E-course Review and Discount

master you fueling and hydration course

Earlier this summer, Laura reached out to me to see if I would be interested in taking her "Master Your Fueling and Hydration" E-course for Runners and sharing a review. I immediately agreed, although we weren't sure about the timing as I was still in the early stages of my injury. I decided not to wait any longer to share my thoughts about this course, because I thought it was extremely well written and would ... Read the Post...

Loving/Not Loving Lately

duckpin

I've never done a post like this before, but I thought I would share some of my favorite things lately as well as some things that I am not exactly loving. Let's see how this goes!  Loving: Our deck which is finally finished! My favorite thing is to sit out there on weekend mornings with my coffee. Last weekend Rob and I got back from our runs, ate breakfast, and then headed out to the deck with our coffee. I ... Read the Post...

A Look Back at August 2016

Mile by Mile Running

Here we are on the last day of August 2016, which means I hurt my foot almost a full three months ago. That is pretty much the entire summer, which makes me very sad. It wasn't all bad though. And it wasn't like I completely stopped running the whole time. (I probably took a full 5-6 weeks off total.) Writing my review of my goals for this month feels so much different. I have pretty much thrown all my goals that I set ... Read the Post...

Quality Over Quantity

sports bra

When I titled this post "quality over quantity" I was referring to physical therapy, but I do believe it applies to running too. However, over the past few weeks I have been really slowing down and making sure to do my exercise correctly, while trying to engage all the correct muscles and focusing on my breathing. Honestly, sometimes this is as much of a mental challenge as a physical one. There are some days when it ... Read the Post...

Getting my hair untangled was a harder workout tha Getting my hair untangled was a harder workout than running 15 miles. When will it actually feel like fall? #running #marathontraining #fallrunning
15 mile long run workout this morning! Honestly, e 15 mile long run workout this morning! Honestly, every step of this felt challenging, so I’m pretty happy that I still hit my paces. I’m going to blame it on the humidity. WHY is it still so warm and humid when it’s almost October 😩🥵 I made the mistake of leaving my hair in a ponytail so of course it was a tangled mess by the time I was done. When will I learn? Just glad I got this done to wrap up week 9 of @richmondmarathon training! Is it still humid where you are? #run #marathontraining #richmondmarathon #longrun
Yesterday’s’ long run was 16 miles with 6 x 1 Yesterday’s’ long run was 16 miles with 6 x 1 mile MP/1 mile easy. I took a few hours of PTO in the morning to do this on the trail because I knew wouldn’t be able to do it this weekend. This was my first time on the trail since my marathon last November. It was nice to be back there and the perfect place to do this kind of long run. It was the kind of run where you start thinking “ok cool I just did a tough MP workout” but then you remember you actually need to run 26 miles in a row at that pace. Luckily there’s still 9 more weeks of training…although that doesn’t really sound like that much!
41 miles for the week and got in 2 strength sessions. Taking it easy this weekend other than chasing the kids around for all their activities! #run #marathontraining #longrun
It’s kind of freeing to not care about pace. It It’s kind of freeing to not care about pace. It is a little frustrating to have to plan more time for an easy run. But it’s definitely worth it to recover quicker and feel better on workout days! #run #marathongtraining #easyrun
