in Life, Thinking Out Loud &middot September 29, 2016

Stuck In Another Season and Weekend Randomness

Earlier this week I got the urge to think out loud which worked out well because today I happen to be in San Diego for work. Yep, traveling west again, just when I finally got acclimated back to the east coast after our trip to Hawaii. At least this is only a 3 hour time change and it’s just a 4 day trip.

We had some nice fall weather last weekend but it was really confusing. Lately I have felt like I am not oriented to the time of year it is. Like when I try to think about where I am in time I question if it’s stills spring or summer and then finally remember that it’s fall. I guess it just feels like the summer flew by and September didn’t really happen because we were in Hawaii.

I was going to sit out on our deck Sunday morning and realized it was a little too cold! I would have had to wear layers and I just wasn’t up for that. A little later though it was perfect weather for a walk!

Do you know that our middle cushion for our deck furniture finally got delivered? It was just 3 months after we actually ordered everything.

Hopefully we will have a few more months of good deck weather once I am finally done with traveling and now that the deck is fully furnished. I would also love to figure out how these bugs are getting into our enclosure. Rob has filled in any gaps we can find, and these are not small bugs. We seem to always get wasps and stink bugs. They hang out on the screen trying to escape.

I think I have become slightly more addicted to coffee over these past few weeks. I need a little extra to get through the first few days of being back but it’s become a habit to drink 2-3 cups rather than 1-2. I need to get back to my regular routine again!

We took advantage of a quiet weekend at home by trying a new restaurant. For those in the Baltimore area, it was La Food Marketa in Quarry Lake- a spinoff of The Food Market in Hamden, featuring Central and South American cuisine. We thought the food was good, but the service wasn’t great. It seems like they just need to get into a better flow…there were lots of people working but not efficiently, if that makes sense.

We finished up the night with some drinks on our front porch. I’m gonna miss being able to spend so much time outdoors.

Do you feel like it’s fall or are you stuck in another season?
Any tips for keeping these bugs away?
Did you have cooler weather last weekend?

Someone in San Diego apologized for the bad weather- it was 80 and sunny the whole time! I was like, umm its been pouring rain in MD all week. Its tough coming back to the rain but definitely good to be home.

It is definitely fall/winter here right now. Yesterday was basically a winter day–all types of weather and temps and rain. So early winter. ANd it is supposed to be one helluva crappy winter, so I am NOT looking forward to that!

I starting to feel more ready for fall, but definitely not winter, at least not yet!

Fall is here in Seattle, but honestly summer was so mild that I don’t notice much of a difference yet. I am ready for colder mornings with temperatures in the 40s!
Enjoy your trip in San Diego!

It will be nice to have that sweet spot of fall with the cooler mornings but still decent temps during the day!

You keep teasing me with your amazing deck furniture. Hmm… maybe I’ll go on a hunt for some; I bet there’s some good sales right now! Have a good trip, Lisa!

We had hot weather this past weekend, but then things cooled off dramatically heading into the work week. I’m also struggling to come to terms with the season. It doesn’t feel like it should be Fall yet even though the leaves are starting to drop and stores have started putting out Christmas stuff (horrified gasp). I’ve been feeling like there is something wrong with me, but glad it’s not just me 🙂

Christmas stuff?!?! Nooo! Its too soon. I heard of the radio that something like a million people have already done their Christmas shopping. How crazy is that?

I wish I could get stuck in a season other than perpetual summer! I love living near the beach but one of these years I may need to move to California so I can take in some cooler weather (and less humidity)!

I love your deck furniture. I hope you can find time and the right weather to cosy up on it before winter arrives. I bet in cooler air it would be lovely to sit out there with a cup of hot chocolate!

I think CA would be a great place to live! (Except that its expensive and I hear the traffic is awful).

This is the first day that really feels like fall. The girls were bundled up for the walk to school, but I’m loving it! Enjoy CA!

It is still feeling like summer here in North Carolina. I’m ready for some fall weather! Your deck seems like it’s so awesome 🙂

San Diego sounds nice. I’m sure the weather there is just perfect before coming back to cooler temps. I am a big fan of coffee too and seem to be drinking too much lately.

The weather in San Diego was perfect…it was tough coming back to all the rain here in MD!

I could do without the rain, but the cooler temps aren’t too bad!

Contrary to what Susie says, it’s not winter here. It’s just crappy. It’s been blustery and cool–in the 60s. Yuck. But we’ve had a pretty spectacular aka warm fall. Spoiled, I guess…I’m just dreading what’s to come.

Yep, thats how I feel. I am ok with fall but definitely dreading the winter.

I’m in Belgium, but it’s definitely getting cooler here too. Too bad, we just moved and we have a nice new balcony with two comfy chairs. Starting to rain to 😐 I guess we’ll enjoy our balcony more in summer! At least I like it more to go outdoors now than in summer. I’m not good with heat and my sports performance drops immensely in summer. Looking forward to better workouts in colder weather 🙂

Hopefully you will get a few chances to enjoy your balcony! And the cooler weather is definitely nice for outdoor workouts.
